Magnolia Gold Award
Jens Ewert
On 29 September 2025, Jens Ewert, Vice Chair of Deloitte Asia Pacific and senior partner of Deloitte China MNC Client Services, was awarded the "2025 Shanghai Magnolia Gold Award" by the Shanghai Municipal Government. The Mayor of Shanghai, Gong Zheng, presented medals and certificates to the winners. Having received the Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award in 2021, Jens has now been recognized with a higher honor after four years of dedicated efforts and diligent work.
This award is a recognition and encouragement for Jens himself and a testament to the contributions of Deloitte China to assisting Shanghai's economic development and promoting overseas exchanges with the city.
The "Magnolia Gold Award" is an award established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government under the name of the city flower—the magnolia—to recognize and thank outstanding foreigners for their positive contributions to Shanghai's economic construction, social development, and overseas exchanges. According to the selection and commendation procedures of relevant departments of the Shanghai Government, "Magnolia Gold Award" winners are chosen from recipients of the "Magnolia Silver Award".
During the four years from 2021 to 2025, Jens, with his commitment to "being in China and for China", continued to work diligently and keep up with the pace of innovation and economic transformation in Shanghai. Together with partners and colleagues from Deloitte China, he participated in several business forums, actively promoting external exchanges with Shanghai and enhancing its business environment in various fields. He explored new approaches to connect domestic and foreign capital and achieve efficient outcomes, led the Deloitte China Life Science Industry Service Team, and published several industry insight reports. Jens was also invited to present Shanghai's development opportunities and concrete examples of success to domestic and foreign attendees at important business conferences. Jens Ewert was recommended by the Huangpu District Government to receive this award.
Jens Ewert says,
I am excited and highly honored to receive the 'Magnolia Gold Award' from the Shanghai Municipal Government. This is not only a significant personal award, but also a recognition of Deloitte's commitment to the development of China, especially Shanghai. I look forward to further elevating my activities as a 'Gold Ambassador' for the city of Shanghai, contributing to improving the investment and business environment through constructive dialogue with all stakeholders at the municipal and district level. It is truly rewarding to enable and support my fellow partners and colleagues at Deloitte China to create value for multinational businesses and the city of Shanghai. The Huangpu River flows endlessly, and Shanghai is an outstanding and constantly evolving city. Let’s meet. Together makes progress!
