Specific Guide for Core Components Protection of Weighbridge Load Cell

Junction Box and Cable Protection

• Do notflush the junction box directly with a high-pressure water gun. 

Inspect the cover gasket for aging or damage after every rainfall, and replace failed gaskets promptly to prevent water vapor ingress and short circuits.

• Clean dust and sediment accumulated around the junction box weekly.  

 For highly corrosive working conditions, fit the junction box with a waterproof and dustproof guard to block corrosive moisture from contacting internal components.

• Regularly inspect all connecting cables for sheath damage and aging, and check connector pins for oxidation and corrosion.

 Align the connector properly and apply steady force during plugging/unplugging. Do not force connection, which may damage pins.

Use a level gauge for calibration when installing multiple load cells. Ensure all bases are on the same horizontal plane to prevent partial long-term overload of individual load cells caused by eccentric loading.

Connect load cells with stranded copper wires to form an electrical bypass. Don't connect load cell cables in advance before welding work to prevent high current from directly breaking down strain gauges.

Cut off power and stop operation once water accumulates in the foundation pit. Drain water rapidly with a submersible pump, wipe moisture inside the junction box, clean load cell surfaces with alcohol and let them air-dry. Do not power on for testing until the insulation resistance is confirmed ≥5MΩ.

• Perform monthly no-load observation of the instrument zeroing status to detect early signs of value drift and prevent unexpected shutdown.

• Clean sand, gravel and debris under the weigh‑pad to prevent foreign objects from jamming the scale and squeezing the load cell.

• Store the equipment indoors in a dry and well‑ventilated area during long‑term idle periods.  In high-humidity environments, install dehumidifiers to protect components from moisture damage and rust.
