Following a breakthrough in the commercial-scale application of ammonia-based zero-carbon combustion technology in the ceramic industry, DLT from HLT&DLT has taken another pioneering step forward in zero-carbon kiln technology. On October 28, the launch ceremony for the strategic cooperation project between DLT and NewPearl Group—the world's first high-efficiency, flexible, zero-carbon electrically fired demonstration line for sintered slabs (tiles)—was held at NewPearl's advanced building materials production base in Sanshui.
Mr. Delin YE, Chairman of NewPearl Group; Ms. Wangjuan LIANG, President of NewPearl Group; and Mr. Runtong JIAN, Vice President, along with other senior executives and management representatives from the Group and the production base, attended the ceremony. Mr. Cheng BIAN, Chairman of KEDA Industrial Group; Mr. Xuexian YANG, Director and General Manager of KEDA Industrial Group and General Manager of HLT&DLT; Mr. Junliang WU, General Manager of DLT; and Mr. Zhiping XIE, Marketing Director of DLT, joined government officials at the provincial, municipal, and district levels, leaders of industry associations and societies, and media representatives to witness this milestone.
High-End Customization, Flexible Production
As a leading enterprise in the ceramic tile industry, NewPearl Group has risen to the challenge despite the industry's downward cycle, slowing demand, intensifying competition in the existing market, and other pressures. In partnership with DLT, the Group is tackling key technical challenges in zero-carbon electric kilns.
Powered by clean electricity from renewable sources, the project features an innovative design for the main structure of a high-temperature electric kiln. It focuses on overcoming key technical challenges, including uniform cross-sectional temperature control, adapting firing processes to electric heating, and structural energy efficiency in electric heating systems. Forward-looking R&D is also underway in areas such as electrical safety protection and fast heating and cooling. These efforts have yielded a series of groundbreaking innovations that overturn traditional fossil-fuel firing methods and achieve genuine zero-carbon emissions, opening up a new pathway for the ceramic industry to meet its carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.
The project will be developed in 2 phases, focusing on high-end customized products such as artistic sintered slabs. Phase I is equipped with DLT's core firing machinery: the EPS Series high-efficiency, flexible, zero-carbon electric roller kiln and the ES Series energy-saving, high-efficiency, self-circulating five-layer dryer. The production line can manufacture artistic sintered slabs in sizes such as 1,800 × 900 mm and 3,600 × 1,800 mm, with maximum dimensions of 11,000 × 1,800 mm.
From "Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction" to "Zero Carbon Throughout the Entire Process"
As a long-standing partner of HLT&DLT, NewPearl Group has provided numerous real-world operating scenarios for raw material processing, press, and firing machinery. These include China's first ultra-wide sintered slab kiln at the Group's Lubu production base in Gaoyao, the world's longest double-layer sintered stone roller kiln at its Sanshui production base, and 2 industry-leading 5A intelligent double-deck roller kilns. The sustained industrial operation of these advanced machinery systems has witnessed the evolution of the partnership from strategic cooperation to deep mutual trust.
The commissioning of this high-efficiency, flexible, zero-carbon electrically fired demonstration line for sintered slabs (tiles) represents another exemplary collaboration between a leading ceramic tile manufacturer and a leading kiln technology provider. It not only elevates their partnership from "energy conservation and carbon reduction" to a new level of "zero carbon throughout the entire process", but also delivers multiple groundbreaking technological breakthroughs.

Achieving Zero Carbon Is an Imperative of Our Time
Natural gas is regarded as a transitional energy source for the industry, while electricity is becoming a major energy source for the future.
As General Manager, Mr. YANG, stated in his address, this project represents not only a transformative shift in firing technology but also a systematic restructuring of the industrial ecosystem. It will provide replicable and scalable technical solutions for the ceramic tile industry's transition to zero carbon, helping the industry move from "high energy consumption and high emissions" to "zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing", and driving the zero-carbon transformation and upgrading of the entire industrial chain.
DLT's exploration of zero-carbon technologies began years ago. From the launch of "the world's first demonstration production line for ammonia-based zero-carbon combustion technology in the ceramic industry" in September 2024 to the commissioning of "the world's first high-efficiency, flexible, zero-carbon electrically fired demonstration line for sintered slabs (tiles)", DLT has achieved a series of pioneering industry breakthroughs. These achievements demonstrate the company's commitment to green development and its sense of social responsibility and mission in this new era.
Green Innovation Enhances Quality; Environmental Protection Goes Hand in Hand with Efficiency. The successful commissioning of this project not only reflects NewPearl Group's strong recognition of DLT's technological innovation capabilities, but also represents a strategic commitment by both companies to fulfilling their shared mission in the era of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Furthermore, it establishes a new industry milestone for the green, low-carbon transformation of ceramic industry and the global high-temperature industrial sector.
