学术讲座47期 | Quantifying extrinsic and intrinsic noise in cellular dynamics

This talk will present recent research on the development of machine-learning-based tools for uncertainty quantification, with applications in identifying noise in reconstructing and understanding cellular dynamics from observed data.

Dr Mingtao Xia is an Assistant Professor at the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. Before joining UoB, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston. Prior to that, he was a Courant Instructor at New York University from 2023 to 2025. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA in 2023. He received his B.S. degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Peking University, School of Mathematics, in 2019. His research interests focus on scientific machine learning, uncertainty quantification, stochastic differential equations, mathematical biology, and scientific computing.
