If you think you've had a bad day at work, at least you probably haven't accidentally broadcast something awkward to an entire livestream audience.
A Chinese local basketball channel called Handan Basketball (邯郸篮球) recently found itself at the centre of an online storm after an alleged microphone mishap during a live game.
According to reports circulating online, the broadcast continued during a break in the game, and the stream unexpectedly transmitted roughly 10 seconds of clear, explicit sexual noises, including heavy breathing, slapping sounds, and distinct female moaning. Over 500 netizens were actively watching the live stream when the audio blunder occurred, sparking immense discussion and mockery across Chinese social media and platforms like X
Let's just say the internet had plenty of theories about what those sounds were.

While Chinese streaming networks rarely issue public press releases for individual content violations, the aftermath for the creators was swift and brutal. As the explicit audio clip began blowing up on the Douyin (Chinese TikTok) livestreaming
service, the platform's automated moderation system stepped in and promptly shut the channel down mid-broadcast.
Since the incident, the creators behind "Handan Basketball" have gone completely silent, opting to lay low rather than issue an official apology or public statement.
Meanwhile, domestic internet censors have been working overtime. While the blunder continues to trend globally on X, Chinese tech platforms have actively suppressed related hashtags and search queries on networks like Weibo to stop the viral clip from spreading any further domestically. Well, not surprised right?
Believe it or not, this isn't even the first time the internet has witnessed a blunder like this. We’ve seen infamous corporate scandals in China where employees forgot to turn off their online meeting cameras during office hours, and multiple high-profile cases where coworkers engaged in intimate actions right inside a corporate meeting room, completely oblivious to the fact that the entire company was watching the broadcast.
If there is a lesson to be learned here, it’s simple: always assume the microphone is live, double-check your settings, and leave the multitasking for after the broadcast.
I get it, having it in meeting room is thrilling. But having everyone knows about your action is a different story! So stay alert and stay safe, buddies.
Oh, and one last thing!
