交流期间，研究院方面介绍了在AI for Science领域的技术体系布局、代表性研发成果及产业落地实践。研究院聚焦科学研究与产业创新中的实际需求，积极探索人工智能技术与科研场景的深度融合，推动形成贯通技术研发、成果转化与产业应用的创新链条。
欧方代表介绍了欧盟“科学中的人工智能”战略及RAISE试点计划（Resource for AI Science in Europe），阐述了欧盟整合现有机构、汇聚全欧人才与资源的相关举措。内容涵盖基础设施、数据、人才与资金四大方面，包括AI超级工厂、开源科学基础模型、专题卓越网络及实验室数字化等工作进展。

欧方代表表示，通过此次实地交流，对研究院的发展情况有了更深入的了解，认为这种从产业需求出发、打通科研与应用链条的发展模式在全球 AI 研究机构中颇具独特性。双方还就人工智能如何加速科学发现、加强科研与产业应用之间的联系等议题进行了探讨。
On October 14, 2026, a delegation from the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission and the Delegation of the European Union to China visited the AI for Science Institute, Beijing (AISI). The two sides held in-depth exchanges on the development trends, technological innovation, and practical applications of AI for Science.
During the exchange, AISI presented its technical system layout, representative R&D achievements, and industry implementation practices in the field of AI for Science. Focusing on the practical needs of scientific research and industrial innovation, the Institute actively explores the deep integration of artificial intelligence technologies with research scenarios, promoting an innovation chain that connects technology development, achievement transformation, and industrial application.
The European side presented the EU’s AI in Science Strategy and the RAISE pilot, outlining efforts to connect existing organisations and pool talent and resources across Europe. The presentation covered infrastructure, data, talent and funding, including work on AI gigafactories, open-source scientific foundation models, thematic networks of excellence and laboratory digitalisation. The European representatives noted that this on-site exchange has given them a deeper understanding of AISI's development, and commended the Institute's unique development model — starting from industrial needs and bridging research and application — as distinctive among global AI research institutions. The discussion explored how AI can accelerate scientific discovery and strengthen links between research and industrial applications.
