At YCIS Shanghai ECE (Early Childhood Education), our Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) are far more than a classroom "extra" — they are a stage where every child discovers what they love and grows in every way.
We have organised our rich array of CCA into three strands, based on the dimensions of a child's growth:
Cognitive · Language Learning, STEAM & Logical Thinking
From picture-book reading in Once Upon a Story to Lego Construction and STEAM projects, exploration happens naturally through play.
We don't see language learning as a one-way transmission of knowledge; through teacher–child interactive games, children pick up English naturally as they jump and play.
Mad Numeracy Fun and the Curious Thinker Club turn maths into a thinking game;
Future Engineer and Future Creator build their big ideas into life with LEGO.
Creative & Science and Crafts & Colouring keep the joy of hands-on, minds-on fun alive every week.
Sports · Physical Fitness, Coordination & Teamwork
Taekwondo, Basketball, Football, Gymnastics and Tennis are all led by professional coaches, giving children plenty of room to run, jump and collaborate;
Arts · Aesthetic Sense & Expression
Dance and Ballet bring out self-expression; painting and creating set the imagination free.
