The globaleconomy is experiencing a legitimacy crisis fueled by mismanagement of naturalresources, mistrust of the worldwide technocracy, and mismeasurement of humanactivity. Our social, economic, and natural environments have all changed, butour thinking about measuring success has not kept pace. All over the world,people believe that the way we measure our economic success does not reflecttheir financial reality. How will we conduct and measure financial success toensure our impact on nature and economic development becomes more realistic,responsible, and sustainable? Will it be possible to decouple economic growthfrom environmental degradation in line with the United Nations’ 10‑YearFramework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production?
