Deep Blue Dialogue – Episode 1: We are honored to welcome Zhang Zhanhai, Chief Convener of Deep Blue Voyage 2035 Global Ocean Expedition and Chairman of the China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association.
在对话中，张占海表示，“深蓝梦想2035”不仅是一场科学远征，更是中国在联合国“海洋十年”框架下推动全球海洋治理的创新实践。它肩负着深海探索、科技赋能、产业升级和公众教育的多重使命，旨在为全球可持续发展提供系统性方案。
In the “Deep Blue Dialogue,” Zhang Zhanhai emphasized that Deep Blue Voyage 2035 is not only a scientific expedition, but also China’s pioneering contribution to global ocean governance under the framework of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science. Carrying multiple missions—advancing deep-sea exploration, empowering technological innovation, driving industrial transformation, and enhancing public ocean literacy—it aspires to deliver systemic solutions for global sustainable development.
他指出，与以往科考不同，“深蓝梦想2035”不仅汇聚科学家，更将政府、龙头企业、科研机构与公众携手联动，构建起科学、产业与社会共振的全新格局。通过科学发现、技术创新、国际合作和科普教育四大驱动，该计划将打造一个覆盖前沿科研、产业创新与公众参与的综合性平台。
He highlighted that, unlike traditional expeditions, Deep Blue Voyage 2035 brings together not only scientists but also governments, leading enterprises, research institutions, and the public, forging a new paradigm of synergy between science, industry, and society. Driven by four pillars—scientific discovery, technological empowerment, international cooperation, and public engagement—the initiative is envisioned as a comprehensive platform that integrates frontier research, industrial innovation, and public participation.
张占海介绍，“深蓝梦想2035”将于2025年12月从深圳起航，展开为期100天的太平洋首航，途经多处关键海域。以此为起点，“深蓝梦想2035”将在未来十年持续推进，开启跨越国界、汇聚智慧、引领深海探索的新篇章，彰显中国携手世界共建海洋命运共同体的责任与担当。
Zhang announced that the first 100-day Pacific voyage will set sail from Shenzhen in December 2025, traversing key ocean regions. This inaugural journey marks the beginning of a decade-long endeavor that transcends borders, unites global wisdom, and pioneers a new era of deep-sea exploration—showcasing China’s commitment to building, hand in hand with the world, a shared future for the ocean.
