We want to inform you about new Google updates.
Please refer to the Updates below, if any question, please let us know.
[IMPORTANT] [UPDATE] Stop Chamois app in build image (GTS 5.0 BETA tool)
Google stop com.android.tools.callassistant app, and com.android.sram.helper app in SW build.
from now on, 3PL need to submit both GTS 4.1_r2 and GTS 5.0 partial test report to Google. Please download the GTS 5.0 BETA tool and send report to Lab before official submission.
Although Google require 3PL to upload these partially run GTS 5.0 report, for now Google won't block build approval for failure unless those thrown from known listed above).
Google will start to reject build which has this issue on Monday July 17. Please make a try to avoid future rejection of build approval.
Please use below command on GTS 5.0 to check these bad behavior.
$run gts --include-filter GtsPackageNameCertPairsDeviceTestCases --include-filter GtsInstallPackagesWhitelistDeviceTestCases --include-filter GtsAppBlacklistDeviceTestCases
testInstallerPackagesAgainstWhitelist is checking apps which has package installation permission against a whitelist in Google backend.
If your device throw error due to this, please prepare below information :
• package name
• ownership of the package, OEM or 3rd party
• sha256 of the signing certificate
• Function of the app, why this app need the right to install packages. If it does not make sense, for example, a calendar app or a flashlight app, we have to reject it, otherwise, we will add it to the white list. App stores, OTAs, updaters, and peer-to-peer are some example which package installation right make sense.
