云南，不止是一个名词，

云南位于中国西南部，
与缅甸、老挝、越南接壤。
昆明是云南的省会，四季温暖如春，
故称为“春城”。
在云南，

金殿风景区，
坐落在昆明东北郊的鸣凤山上，
始建于明朝，
仿武当山太和宫建造，
是云南著名的道观风景名胜区。
The Golden Temple Park is located in the Mingfeng Mountains, seven kilometers to the northeast of Kunming. This beloved copper temple on the top of Mingfeng Hill was built in the Ming dynasty in imitation of the Taihe Palace and has become one of the most famous Taoist shrines in Yunnan Province.
金殿风景区牌坊众多，
从鸣凤胜境的牌坊沿路而上，
依次会经过三道“天门”，
三道天门之间的台阶数量，
也对应着“三十六天罡，七十二地煞”
的道教文化。
As with most Taoist temples, you approach it by climbing up a mountainside on winding stone steps and passing through a series of "Heavenly Gates". The three Heavenly Gates of the Golden Temple are highly decorated with painted archivolts and carved beams and rafters, which demonstrated the brilliance of the Taoist culture.
经过三道天门之后，
就到了金殿建筑的主体”太和宫“，
映入眼帘的便是“棂星门”。
棂星门一般多建于孔庙之内，
以祈求五谷丰登。
太和宫棂星门横匾上题有“洞天福地”，
门两旁有佛教中的青狮献瑞、白象呈祥;
体现了的佛、道、儒三教共处一地的特点。
At the end of the path, there is a miniature, medieval city wall standing on a platform. There you will also find the Lingxing Gate through which you could enter the temple. Legend has it that the Lingxing Gate is generally built in the Confucian temple to pray for a good harvest. There is a plaque on the gate, which is engraved with “Dong Tian Fu Di (a blessed spot)”, and they're also a green lion and a white elephant, of a sacred manner, guarding the entrance, which demonstrates the mergence among Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.
金殿朝晖
The Golden Temple
金殿是太和宫的核心建筑，
初建于明万历年间，
是一座铜铸的道教建筑，
又名瓦铜殿。
是中国四大铜殿之一，
也是我国现存最大的纯铜铸殿，
金殿风景区也因此命名。
The golden temple, also known as Watong temple(bronze-tiled temple), was first built in the Ming dynasty. As part of the Taoist Taihe Palace (Hall of Supreme Harmony), it is one of the four great bronze temples and the largest copper temple in the country, hence the name of the golden temple park.
金殿
整个殿重250余吨，
高6.7米，宽和深7.8米。
所有梁柱、屋面、斗拱、
供台、帐幔及其装饰，
全是青铜铸造而成的。
云南是黄铜和白铜的主要产地，
在明清时代，
云南产铜量占全国的一半以上，
金殿的建造也得益于此。
Emperor Guangxu ordered its complete repair in 1890, using 250 tons of solid bronze, building into a 6.7 meters high, 7.8 meters wide, and deep temple. Except for the staircases and balustrades, which are made of marble, the walls, columns, rafters, roof tiles, altars, Buddha statues, wall decorations and the banner near the gate tower are all made of copper. The burnished copper gleamed like gold and that is why people named it the Golden Temple. As the main producing area of brass and white copper, Yunnan produces more than half of the country's copper, which offers adequate supplies of raw materials for the building of the golden temple.
金殿的历史悠久，
现在鸣凤山上的金殿
是康熙十年吴三桂重铸的。
1980年清洗铜殿烟尘时，
发现铜殿正梁上的铭文。
During the Qing Dynasty, Wu Sangui, the governor of Yunnan Province, rebuilt an exact duplicate of the original one in Mingfeng Mountain. This temple was undisturbed for almost two hundred years till 1980.
鸣凤晨钟
The Bell Tower
永乐大钟，
造于1423年，
重约14吨，
钟声雄浑悠远，
相传钟声可传30里。
是云南现存最大的铜钟，
也是中国现存第四大铜钟。
Behind the Golden Temple, there is a three-story-high Bell Tower that was built in 1984 to house a large,599-year-old copper bell with a weight of incredible 14 tons. It is the largest bronze bell in Yunnan, and also the fourth-largest bronze bell in China.
鸣凤山茶
The Camellia in Mingfeng Mountain
山茶花，
既有傲梅的风骨，
又有牡丹的绚烂。
郭沫若盛赞曰：
“茶花一树早桃红，百朵彤云啸傲中。”
山茶花是昆明的市花，
也是云南八大名花之一。
The Camellia symbolizes tenacity and devotion and the beauty of the flower has been treasured by Chinese people. We believe that the petals reflect the spirit and beauty of mankind. The Camellia is the city flower of Kunming, and also one of the eight famous flowers in Yunnan.
金殿的山茶花，
已有500多年的栽培历史。
茶花园占地约170多亩，
10000多株，
是昆明赏山茶花的最佳地点。
初冬的山茶已经陆续开放，
交相辉映，美不胜收。
In front of the staircase outside the Golden Temple, the wide-branched camellias are covered with thousands of flowers in the depth of winter. The camellia garden covers an area of more than 170 mu with more than 10,000 camellia trees, which were planted during the Ming dynasty, and make the golden temple the best place to enjoy camellia in Kunming.
金殿的风光，
有苍翠遮天，花香鸟鸣；
也有金瓦雕甍、飞檐翘角。
正如对联上写的：
“画栋连云，只占青山三亩地；
朱楼映日，别开绿野一重天。”
Near the temple is a 600-year-old camellia tree that signals the approach of spring every February by giving hundreds of exquisite blossoms, and the hillside around the Golden Temple abounds with pine trees, evergreens, hardy cypresses, and a multitude of plants. As far back as the Qing Dynasty, the natural beauty of Mingfeng Hill has caused it to be acclaimed as the Fairyland of Mingfeng.
