泸沽湖
古名勒得海、鲁枯湖，
纳西族摩梭语意为山沟里的湖。
位于四川与云南交界，
湖面海拔2691米，
最大水深105.3米，
是中国第三大深水湖泊。
Located at the border of Sichuan and Yunnan, originally known as Delehai Lake or Luku Lake, the Lugu lake got its name from the Mousuo language, which means “the lake in the valley”. The lake ranks the third largest deep-water lake in China with a lake elevation of 2,691 meters and the deepest depth of 105.3 meters.
泸沽湖，
因受大气环流的影响，
具有暖温带山地季风气候的特点。
全年有近十个月的时间
风和日丽，蓝天如洗。
The atmospheric circulation brought a warm temperate continental climate to the Lugu lake area, as well as nearly ten months of fair weather and clear skies out of the year.
秋天
是泸沽湖最佳的观赏季节，
秋高气爽，水光潋滟，
湖面犹如“天空之境”。
碧蓝清澈的湖面上，
随波摇曳着一朵朵海菜花。
这里被称作“神仙居住的地方”，
也被称为“香格里拉的源头”。
Autumn turns Lugu Lake into a colorful land — red maple leaves, blue sky and lake, white clouds, and the pale reeds are vibrant in the golden sun glow. The water of the Lugu Lake is so clear and unpolluted that when standing on the bank of the lake. Every year in the autumn, the bright Ottelia acuminate flowers bloom along the banks of the lake, making Lugu Lake a fairyland.
游泸沽湖，
不得不提的便是猪槽船。
秋日的泸沽湖非常平静，
游动着朵朵白云，倒映着巍巍青山，
摩梭人划动着猪槽船
荡开层层涟漪，
让泸沽湖变为一幅流动的山水画。
When you arrive at Lugu Lake in autumn, you will be fascinated by its beauty at once. With the unique pig chamfer boat (a kind of dugout canoe, which can be found only in Lugu lake) leaving the dock, a day’s journey begins with the cool breeze blowing across the Muosuo people’s cheek. What can be better to enjoy the beautiful landscapes on Lugu Lake than paddle with the locals?
泸沽湖沿岸居住着摩梭人，
一个非常神秘的民族，
是中国目前唯一存在的母系氏族社会。
仍保留着母权制家庭形式，
实行“男不娶，女不嫁”
的“走婚”制度，
这里也被称为“东方女儿国”。
The lakeshore is inhabited by Mosuo people who have peculiar customs, which was known as “the most mysterious ethnic group in China”. Up to now they still keep remnants of a matriarchal society. Men and women are not united by wedlock, this kind of marriage has been mentioned namely, the “traveling marriage,” which is marriage without cohabitation, thus the lake has often been referred to as the the “the Kingdom of Women”.
走婚桥，
摩梭男女约会的地方
位于泸沽湖东南水域的草海区域，
是从草海芦苇丛中延伸出来的
一座长达300米的木桥，
被称为“天下第一鹊桥”。
Located at the southeastern part of Lugu Lake, there is a 300-meter wooden bridge called the “Walking Marriage Bridge” that passes through what locals call the “grass sea” of dense reeds and provides a convenient pathway to fulfill the custom of walking marriage, which was known as “the bridge of magpies”.
走婚桥下便是草海，
约15000亩，常年水鸟聚集。
虽是秋冬季节，
草海上依然翠色苍茫，
像是镶嵌在泸沽湖东面的翡翠。
Under the bridge is the Caohai (grass sea) area, which is a lake area covered with thick reeds, which was called “Grass sea” among locals. Covering an area of 15 square kilometers, this beautiful area is as green as a piece of jade inlaid in the east of Lugu Lake even in autumn.
里格半岛
是远眺泸沽湖的最佳地点，
三面环水，
背靠格姆女神山。
这里有最淳朴的摩梭人家
和最原始的自然风光。
Every view of the Lige Peninsula looks like a postcard. The peninsula is surrounded by water on three sides and situated at the foot of Gemu Goddess Mountain. In the quiet water, a small boat slowly appears without a sound, appearing as if it had traveled all the way from ancient times and had always been there.
格姆女神山
海拔3754.7米
在摩梭神话传说中，
格姆女神山是格姆女神的化身，
也叫狮子山，
是泸沽湖四周最高的山峰，
在山顶可以俯瞰整个泸沽湖。
The Lion Mountain, also known as Gemu Mountain on the north side of the Lugu Lake, is the major shrine of the deity that Mosuo people worship called Goddess Gemu. Rising 3754.4 meters above sea level, the Gemu Mountain reclines on the water of the lake. As the highest mountain around Lugu Lake, it provides both a view of the Lugu lake as well surrounding mountains.
