虎跳峡
位于云南省迪庆州香格里拉县境内，
在横断山脉的腹地，
是三江并流区域的核心。
与科罗拉多大峡谷，
和雅鲁藏布江大峡谷齐名，
是排名世界第四、中国第二的大峡谷，
也是万里长江第一大峡谷。
The Tiger Leaping Gorge is a scenic canyon in Shangri-La County, Deqen Prefecture. Located at the heart of the Hengduan Mountains, it is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site. The gorge is as famous as the Grand Canyon and the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, which ranks as the fourth-largest canyon in the world and the second-largest canyon in China, as well as the largest canyon in the Yangtze River region.
虎跳峡，
作为世界上最深的峡谷之一，
因“险”而闻名世界。
金沙江从青藏高原奔袭千里到此，
被玉龙雪山和哈巴雪山阻挡，
峡谷的垂直高差约达3900米。
狂驰怒号、如虎长啸，
给人惊魂动魄之感。
The roaring Jinsha River (part of the Yangtze River) starts from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, carves its way between snow-capped peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain, and forms one of the deepest gorges in the world - the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The drop in elevation between the top of the mountain and surface of the water is more than 3900 meters. All these factors bring the gorge a spectacular scene.
虎跳峡全长23千米，
江面最窄处仅20余米。
分为上虎跳、中虎跳、下虎跳三段，
上虎跳是峡谷中最窄的一段，
其中最主要的景观是“峡口”和“虎跳石”
也是游客游览最多一段。
With a total length of 23 kilometers and the narrowest part of the river being only about 20 meters, the Tiger Leaping Gorge was divided into three sections: the Upper Gorge, Middle Gorge, and Lower Gorge. As the narrowest section, you can listen to the roar of the Jinsha River and find the tiger statue in the upper gorge, which is popular with travelers for its sheer landscapes.
中虎跳别称“满天星”，
两岸礁石密布，峭壁兀立，
被誉为“世界奇观”
目前中虎跳属于未开发区域，
而下虎跳两岸也尽是悬崖绝壁，
深入谷中，看天只有一条缝，
故有“一线天”之誉。
The Middle Gorge is a perfect place to challenge yourself. This section was also known as one of the wonders of the world- Mantianxing (Sky Full of Stars), which gets its name as the rocks in the rapids are like stars twinkling in the sky. The middle section is still referred to as an undeveloped area till now. If you want to admire the strikingly beautiful Yixiantian (the Ray of Sunshine), the Lower Gorge will be a good choice as well.
上虎跳
江心雄踞一块巨石，高约13米。
传说曾有一猛虎借江心这块巨石，
从玉龙雪山一侧，
一跃而跳到哈巴雪山，
故将此石取名虎跳石，
虎跳峡也因此而得名。
这块巨石把激流一分为二，
惊涛震天。
Tiger Leaping Rock is the most famous site in the upper gorge. In the legend, the hunted tiger used it to leap across the river from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the Haba Mountain. The 13 meters rock forces the Jinsha or the Upper Yangtze through a 10-meter wide corridor. In the rainy season, it's a sight to behold and it seems the whole earth trembles due to the force of the water as it squeezes through this narrow corridor.
每年的4—6月春末夏初，
和9–10月秋季为最佳游峡时间，
春能观雪山美景，
秋能赏高原秋色，
各有千秋，美不胜收。
The best time to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge is from April to June or September to October. The mountain views are spectacular in Spring, and the weather conditions are more or less comfortable in autumn. Each season has its own unique features and particular atmosphere.
虎跳峡，
山高谷深，路险水猛，
也是“世界十大经典徒步路线”，
徒步其中，
置身于高山绝壁之中，
吸引着各国友人来此游览。
Praised as one of the most classic hiking routes in the world, the rugged Tiger Leaping Gorge trail refreshes souls with sheer natural beauty and majestic snow mountain views, which attracts outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world.
