The festival at headquarters began with fans.

The event kicked off with an informative sharing session about Mid-Autumn Festival customs: where these traditions originated and how they have endured for thousands of years; and the exquisite craftsmanship behind lacquer fans, an intangible cultural heritage. After listening, the festival became more than just a holiday and mooncakes — it gained its roots.

Then came the hands-on session. Blank round fans, raw lacquer pigments and paintbrushes were neatly laid out. Participants used lacquer as ink and water as paper, watching colors spread across the water surface before gently transferring the patterns onto fan surfaces. Every fan became a one-of-a-kind piece, bearing the creator’s unique inspiration. Some painted full moons, while others wrote the Chinese character for "reunion.” As fans waved around the room, autumn filled the air.

From learning about festival traditions to crafting a fan, employees got up close to intangible cultural heritage through hands-on creation. Cultural identity was no longer an abstract concept, but a lacquer fan to take home and cherish.

Algeria Office Mid-Autumn at the Algeria Office was warm and hearty.

A reunion dinner brought everyone together. Staff members sat side by side, tasting dish after dish and chatting about daily life. The festive atmosphere slowly spread through the mist.

During the DIY lantern activity, teams built frames, pasted coloured paper, and fitted lamp wicks. Chinese and Algerian colleagues collaborated to shape lanterns. Once lit, warm yellow light filled the room, shining on smiling faces. This ancient craft came alive on a foreign night.

The photovoltaic project site had its own charm. Chinese and Algerian employees sat in a circle, listening to Chinese colleagues tell the legends and origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival, then shared mooncakes. Beneath the moon and lamplight, stories and sweetness melted together. Reunion suddenly took tangible form.

A meal, a lantern, a mooncake bridged distances and deepened mutual understanding between Chinese and local staff. Traditional Chinese culture was no longer merely something to hear about, but something to experience. The atmosphere of Sino-local collaboration and team belonging on-site grew stronger, uniting hearts for subsequent construction work.

Full moon over Mid-Autumn, hearts tied to overseas missions. Though far away in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East Office organized a reunion dinner for all on-site staff. Everyone gathered to share the feast, admiring the bright moon amid laughter, easing homesickness for their homeland. They talked about work and life, exchanged warm Mid-Autumn greetings, and shared insights on advancing overseas projects. This simple yet heartwarming dinner united colleagues far from home into "one overseas family.” It conveyed MCC22’s care, relieved the pressure on overseas employees, and inspired everyone to turn the warmth of reunion into motivation for work. Staff remain committed to market expansion and project delivery across the Middle East region.

The Overseas Office held special Mid-Autumn activities themed around "reunion.” Liu Yueqi, Office Director, led team members to make dumplings and celebrate the festival, filling the space with warm reunion vibes.

At the event, everyone worked enthusiastically in teams: washing vegetables, chopping ingredients, mixing fillings and rolling wrappers. All joined in kneading dough and folding dumplings. Each uniquely shaped dumpling carried longing and joy. While making dumplings, they chatted casually and celebrated the festival together amid laughter. Though thousands of miles away from home, these small dumplings symbolize harmony and reunion. One bright moon bears all our longing. Amid the warmth of food and smoke, staff felt the spirit of Mid-Autumn, strengthened team cohesion and marked the full-moon festival in a special way.

In Central Asia, Mid-Autumn carries the aroma of wheat.

Together with sister organizations, the Office tasted Kazakhstan’s special "naan mooncake" — the rustic naan paired with the symbolic roundness of mooncakes. One bite brought a unique flavour of Mid-Autumn along the Silk Road, a simple embodiment of cultural integration. Colleagues from different organizations sat together, talking about years of hard work and achievements overseas, and the journey ahead side by side. The homeland was far away, yet drew near through mutual blessings. This gathering fully embraced the longing of wanderers.

It was a natural dialogue between Chinese and foreign cultures, and also strengthened emotional bonds between sister teams. As they shared stories of struggles and future visions, collaboration consensus grew, lifting the sense of belonging and cohesion among overseas builders.
