Free and open to the public, Re-plate is the fancy ‘yard sale’ offering retired tableware from Michelin-recognised restaurants.
First held at Scilla in October 2025, Re-plate is the brainchild of Tastopia, an English-language food media platform founded by fine-dining maven Leah Su.
Dress for the cool early-autumn weather and make your way to Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai’s terrace garden on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10am to 5pm. The host venue will be serving specialty sweets and refreshments if you’re feeling peckish.
As with last year, hundreds of bowls and plates from fine-dining establishments will sold at reduced prices, mostly under 100¥.
This time, however, there’s an even wider pool of participants (16 restaurants from Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Hong Kong and Malaysia), a new charity partner (Shanghai Reyfeng Nonprofit), and a longer-term approach to charitable impact (youth training and employment).

Some restaurant partners are sweetening the deal with extra goodies: think Chao Shang Chao custom chopsticks, Da Vittorio extra virgin olive oil, 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA Shanghai gift boxes, and Madre magnets.
There’s plenty of life left in a plate once its fine-dining days are over. Re-plate champions circularity by giving retired tableware a ‘second serving.’ Visit www.thetastopia.com or @thetastopia on Instagram for more info.
Re-plate gives BYOB a new meaning: “bring your own bag” to help reduce single-use packaging.
