Shanghai, 17 September 2026 – Kong Fu'an, Secretary of the CPC Changning District Committee of Shanghai, visited Yew Chung International School of Shanghai (YCIS Shanghai) today to research its educational distinctiveness, faculty strength and curriculum development.
As Shanghai's first independently registered international school, YCIS Shanghai has long championed the integration of Chinese and Western educational philosophies, offering a continuous through-train education to students from more than 50 countries and regions worldwide.
During the visit, Dr Esther Chan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Yew Chung Yew Wah (YCYW) Education Network, spoke about the founding vision and mission of YCYW and its more than 90 years of history. Guided by three primary student representatives, Kong toured the school's specialised classrooms, Seeds for Tomorrow Programmes and STEAM education facilities, and learned about its innovation and technology curriculum and home–school partnership initiatives. He praised the school for staying true to its educational ethos and contributing to regional development, and expressed the hope that it would create more collaboration platforms to further enrich students' hands-on experience in science and innovation, with a focus on fostering creative thinking and global perspective.
