On September 1, 2026, the APEC SME Innovation and Collaboration Workshop was successfully held in Guangzhou. Focusing on sme innovation and cross-border collaboration, the workshop built an exchange and docking platform for small and medium-sized enterprises across the asia-pacific region. Huang Xingyao, Deputy Director General of Guangzhou Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Zhou Junfeng, Deputy Director General of the SME Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Prapaporn Srihara, Commercial Consul of Royal Thai Consulate-General Guangzhou, and César Gamboa, Consul General of Consulate General of Chile in Guangzhou, delivered opening remarks in turn. They shared insights on development opportunities and cooperation directions for asia-pacific smes.

Victor Cadena, Executive Vice President of MEXCHAM, delivered a keynote speech titled Park Empowerment: Helping SME Integrate into the Global Value Chain in this session. Victor Cadenaanalyzed the overview of sme development in the apec region, presented sector distribution and growth data of foreign direct investment in Mexico, and interpreted investment growth in key industries including automobile manufacturing, financial services and computer equipment. He put forward two core recommendations to support sme development: expanding corporate financing channels, and promoting smes to integrate into global value chains and public procurement systems.
本次研讨会上，来自亚太多国的专家、企业代表围绕早期创新企业投资、科创孵化、产业集群培育、科技成果资本转化等多个议题开展深度研讨。本次活动进一步促进亚太中小企业互联互通，为跨境投资、产业链协作创造更多务实合作机会。
At the workshop, experts and enterprise representatives from multiple asia-pacific countries conducted in-depth discussions on topics covering investment in early-stage innovative enterprises, sci-tech incubation, industrial cluster cultivation, and capital transformation of scientific and technological achievements. This event further boosted connectivity among asia-pacific smes and created more practical opportunities for cross-border investment and industrial chain collaboration.
