The 2026 IGCSE & A-Level summer global examination results have officially been released. Against a broader backdrop of intensifying competition, this year’s June exam session saw increasingly stringent grading standards across the board. Cambridge CAIE continued its independent paper-setting for six core subjects in the China region. Driven by a surge in candidate numbers, grade thresholds for A/A* in most subjects rose significantly—hard sciences such as Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science saw A* cutoffs increase by over 9 points, making top-tier scores markedly harder to achieve.
Despite these dual headwinds—shifting exam formats and tighter grading—the A-Level division of Sendelta delivered a standout performance against the trend.
At the IGCSE level, the Alpha Programme led the way, achieving a 100% A/A* rate across multiple subjects. With balanced excellence in both humanities and sciences, these results laid a solid foundation for advanced study. At AS Level, high achievers were plentiful, with many students securing straight A/A* grades across multiple subjects—building a compelling profile for top-tier university applications. At A-Level, strong final examination performance translated into a steady stream of offers from Oxford, Cambridge, G5 universities, and Hong Kong’s top three institutions.
Empowered by the Oxbridge&HK TOP 3 Program, the Class of 2026 secured the only dual offers in top humanities programmes in the Greater Bay Area, reaffirming Sendelta’s consistent track record of Oxbridge success year after year. To date, students have received 46 offers from Oxbridge and G5 universities, and 32 from Hong Kong’s top three.

Students in the Alpha Programme were particularly outstanding, securing a 100% A/A rate in subjects such as Mathematics and Economics. By comparison, according to 2025 global examination data, the global A average for IGCSE Mathematics stood at just 19.8%, while the global A/A* average for Economics was 42%—placing our students far ahead of the world average.
High-difficulty subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Geography also delivered exceptionally high A/A* pass rates, offering compelling evidence of robust academic strength. Taking IGCSE Geography as an example: the 2025 global A/A* average was only 23.2%, yet our students achieved an impressive 66.7% A/A* rate—nearly three times the global average, a testament to their outstanding calibre.
Meanwhile, the IGCSE cohort as a whole delivered a strong overall performance. In the sciences, subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science continued to reinforce the A-Level division of Sendelta's academic strengths, achieving high pass rates at the A/A* level. In the humanities, Economics, Accounting, and Chinese also posted strong results, demonstrating balanced excellence across both disciplinary streams.
