From September 4 to 6, 2026, Henry Huiyao Wang, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), attended the 52nd TEHA-Ambrosetti Forum, “Intelligence on the World, Europe and Italy,” held at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio on Lake Como.
Organized by TEHA Group, the annual forum is structured around three broad areas: the global outlook, the agenda for Europe, and Italy.
The 2026 programme brought together political leaders, policymakers, economists, academics, business executives and other international speakers for discussions on geopolitical developments, the economic outlook, European competitiveness, energy, technology and other major issues.
Speakers included European Council President António Costa; Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama; Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković; Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani; former Italian prime ministers Mario Monti, Paolo Gentiloni and Enrico Letta; former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo; Mohamed El-Erian, Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz; Laurence D. Fink, Chairman and CEO of BlackRock; and other representatives from government, business, academia and international organizations.
Wang was the only participant from China among the invited guests and took part in two discussions, as well as a session of the forum’s Leader del Futuro programme for young managers and entrepreneurs.
On September 4, Wang took part in “A World in Turmoil,” a discussion under the forum’s “Future Global Challenges and Impacts on Business” session.
Other speakers included Niall Ferguson, Milbank Family Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University; Anne-Marie Slaughter, incoming Dean of the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science and former Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. State Department; and Levent Gümrükçü, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.
On September 5, Wang participated in a panel entitled “Europe’s Path to Growth and Competitiveness,” moderated by Ben Hall, Europe Editor of the Financial Times. The panel also featured Enrico Letta, Dean of IE University and President of the Jacques Delors Institute; Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Chairman of Pirelli & C.; and Will Marshall, Co-founder and CEO of Planet. Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Cohesion and Reforms, subsequently delivered “A View from the EU.”
Later that day, Wang joined the Leader del Futuro Meeting, held in parallel with the annual Villa d’Este Forum. Reserved for young managers and entrepreneurs under the age of 35, the programme brought participants together with speakers from the Cernobbio Forum. Wang delivered a presentation entitled “The Asian Century: China and the Next World Order.” Other speakers included Gina M. Raimondo, Bill de Blasio, Anacláudia Rossbach, Niall Ferguson and Anne-Marie Slaughter.
