Description
:
Under the direction of the Finance Librarian, or designate, the incumbent is responsible for providing a high level of service in person and electronically to users in the use of the Finance & Trading Lab’s applications, including: instructing and training students in the use of applications and databases, participating in the coaching, directing and monitoring student employees, facilitating the peer-to-peer support model in the lab and managing the day-to-day administration of the lab.
Qualifications
:
(Minimum Qualifications)
Education:
An accredited university degree with a major or specialization in one of the following areas: Commerce, Economics or Finance is required; completion of the Canadian Securities Course or CFA Level 1 is preferred; or, an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
At least 3 years’ working experience in a college, university or corporate environment, or in one of the following fields: accounting, economics, finance.
Skills:
Supervisory experience, and experience in customer service or public service.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Excel including financial modelling and experience using VBA programming. Familiarity with the use of common and emerging financial information and research databases.
Good internet and database search skills.
Understanding in the formulation of database search strategies.
Knowledge of and understanding in the use of electronic information and print tools.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Excellent customer service, and analytical skills.
Highly motivated, self-starter with creative thinking skills.
Proven ability to take initiative and problem-solve.
Proven ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated interest and commitment to staying abreast of current business news, markets and financial literacy and related trends.
Experience as a trainer/instructor or public speaking experience.
Other:
Strong proficiency in financial applications, such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet.
Maintains current knowledge of finance theories and concepts.
Notes: Hours of work are 9:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Schedule
: Full-time
Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW11 -- $59,051 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $75,515. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
