Business Overview
The Business Analyst is part of the Business Analysis and Testing team. The Business Analyst plays a key role in the project life cycle by documenting the business requirements, liaising with the business, development and QA teams.
Position Description:
The Business Analyst works with business units and project teams to deliver optimal system solutions to business needs through the process of gathering, researching and analyzing business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Proactively assess current policies, processes, procedures and create a process and/or quality improvements and risk mitigation opportunities in order to enhance system/applications and processes.
Represent stakeholders and partner with project teams to assist in defining business objectives including success criteria and scope.
Act as the intermediary between business and systems teams, translating business objectives as well as functional and user requirements into business requirements documentation.
Support the project team through the design, development and testing phase, working closely with Business Managers/Sponsors, System Design and Development teams and QA
Coordinate and conduct walkthroughs of the business requirements documents. Participate in walkthroughs of system specification documents and user Quality Assurance test plans.
Education, Education and Licenses
3 years post-secondary education with a business emphasis or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience gathering, defining and documenting structured business requirement deliverables.
Nice to have: Completion or enrolment in Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) Operations and/or Sales course an asset
