Speaker Profiles:


Shak Parran

Shak has more than twenty years of hands-on experience in business analytics, management, system engineering, failure analysis, quality assurance and research in numerous industries. Shak is a serial entrepreneur and was the CEO of Chemigreen Inc. and BPG Analytics. Shak is a retired Major from the Army, where he served as a Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer. Shak has worked both for large corporations, and for emerging start-ups. Shak holds a degree in physics and an Executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of business.


Adrien Mak

Adrien Mak is a partner in the Consulting and Deals practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Toronto office.

Adrien has worked on large scale, information technology-related transformational projects for more than fifteen years. He has taken on a wide variety of roles, including project executive, delivery project manager, business architect and systems integrator.

Adrien focuses on addressing business challenges by defining and articulating business issues and designing solutions spanning the business process and technology domains. He has worked extensively with clients in the financial services and telecommunications industries with a focus on Information Management.

Adrien graduated with a BSc (Honours Co-op) in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Management Science, from the University of Waterloo.


Arthur Chan

Arthur Chan is a Partner in the Private Company Services, Audit and Assurance Practice at PwC Toronto. Arthur joined the firm full time in 2000 after obtaining his Master of Accounting (MAcc) and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Waterloo's co-op accounting program.

Arthur is a Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Illinois) and has a variety of experience in providing professional services to a wide range of industries and clientele. He enjoys being a trusted business and tax planning advisor to owners and management of private companies in various industries, including retail, manufacturing, consumer industrial products and real estate as well as private equity investments.

Arthur is one of the leaders in PwC Canada's China Desk practice, providing professional services to owners and companies in the local Chinese community and businesses investing from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. In addition, Arthur has extensive experience in assisting companies with their initial public offerings and prospectuses. Arthur is also the PwC recruitment partner in charge of Greater Toronto Area hirings from the University of Waterloo's co-op accounting programs. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association, Treasurer of the Richmond Hill Markham Chinese Business Association, and is part of the judging panel for the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs.


James Lee

James is an experienced Consulting Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and he has over 15 years of consulting experience that spanned various industries including financial services, healthcare, and communications. He has worked with a wide breadth of fortune 500 companies(both locally and internationally) as a senior strategist, program director, enterprise architect, and engagement leader. His extensive advisory experience includes strategic planning, business process integration, architectural blueprinting, enterprise application, and M&A system integration.

James is a thought leader in information worker solutions for enterprise in the areas of collaboration and social computing, business intelligence, enterprise content management, and customer relationship management. He has been invited to speak at industry conferences including Microsoft Worldwide Conference, TeleHealth Technology Forum, and AIIM Enterprise Content Management Conference.

James holds a MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University and a Bachelor degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.


Teresa Huang

Teresa is a Director with the Consulting & Deals Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Canada. Teresa is experienced in the areas of business transformation, resource management, vendor selection and management, program/project management, and facilitating merger integrations.

Teresa has project managed and supported large business transformation projects especially in the area of Customer Care organization start up, realignment and outsourcing. Teresa has also assisted clients and internally at PwC with transactions of varying degrees of complexity. She is experienced in performing IT and operations due diligence, managing the deal signing and closing processes, as well as managing post deal integration and transition services.

Teresa is currently on secondment serving as the National Resource Management Director for Consulting & Deals. She manages a team of National Resource Managers to drive utilization and optimize staffing performance. She supports the execution of C&D operational strategy relating to resourcing, headcount, work load guidelines and utilization.


Maurice Chang

Maurice is a Director of PwC’s Consulting & Deals Practice with seventeen years of experience in advisory roles. Maurice specializes in improving the financial and operational performance of public sector clients. Maurice brings a wealth of experience conducting operational and functional assessments - in the past five years alone he conducted close to 50 operational and functional reviews for agencies and ministries in the health, education and social services sectors.

Maurice is responsible for applying the Functional Assessment Methodology in multiple public sector projects and he is adept at handling the sensitivities involved in such initiatives. Trained as an engineer, Maurice is also data-driven and possesses a high degree of analytical rigor. He is pragmatic and results-oriented. Maurice graduated with a B.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto and holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.


Arnold Liwanag

Arnold Liwanag is a Manager in PwC’s Consulting practice specializing in IT strategy, enterprise architecture and large-scale technology outsourcing. He is well versed in pre- and post-merger activities, from due diligence and planning to designing the end state enterprise architecture and transition management. He has designed and led numerous large-scale transition programs involving multiple parties, where he applies an integrated and pragmatic approach to ensure the desired business outcomes for key stakeholders. Arnold has over 15+ years in technology services, with over 10+ years in technology outsourcing across various industries, including mining, oil and gas, utilities, telecommunications, government, and finance.


Srini Kesavan

Srini Kesavan has over 18 years of experience in IT working on application architecture, solution architecture, information management, business intelligence, integration architecture and in implementation projects. He has experience in diverse industries solving complex business problems with his design and architecture skills. He has proven project management and delivery management experience. He has extensive experience in leading large teams.

Srini’s strong technical background, business analysis and leadership skills has helped clients like PRESTO, Alberta Environment, RIM, BMO, TD, Potash, Ministry of Government Services - Ontario, Rogers by providing effective technical solutions to solve their business problems.

Srini holds a degree in Masters in Computer Science from Cleveland State University and MBA from Mumbai University. Srini is certified in TOGAF, ITIL, Web Services and PMP.

Srini is President of Glen Abbey Toastmasters in Oakville.


Henry Zhang

Henry Zhang has over 5 years of experience working in professional service firms. He obtained his public accounting license through co-op and full time practicing assurance with KPMG, in the technology and communications industries. He later joined the PwC real estate tax practice and gained extensive experience in Canadian and inbound real estate investment structuring.

Henry leads teams to provide solutions to a wide range of clients, from high net worth individuals, real estate development companies to public real estate investment trusts. His background and knowledge of the Asian culture also proved to be an asset to the PwC Canada-China business network.

Henry holds Bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and business administration at University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. He is a Chartered Accountant in Ontario.
