Recently, 273 Dongfeng pickup trucks lined up at the port and set sail for the Saudi Arabian market. This shipment marks another milestone in Dongfeng Import and Export’s implementation of its “integrated supply and support” strategy and represents a significant volume delivery as the company deepens its footprint in the Middle East.
The order comes from a leading Saudi car rental company. The vehicles will be deployed across the country, serving demanding use cases such as long‑distance desert travel and high‑frequency operations on rough terrain. Facing tight delivery schedules, strict durability requirements, and the need for comprehensive after‑sales support, the Pickup Overseas Business Unit of Dongfeng Import and Export promptly mobilized local resources. The team conducted a full assessment of customer needs and developed tailored solutions addressing vehicle adaptability in extreme desert heat and the high‑turnover nature of rental fleets.
To ensure efficient project execution, the Pickup Business Unit set up a special cross‑functional task force, led by senior management who travelled to Saudi Arabia for negotiations. They coordinated production, financing, and logistics in advance, removing potential bottlenecks across the entire supply chain. After the order was finalised in June, the team completed vehicle adaptation tuning and established a robust after‑sales service system. With execution exceeding expectations, all 273 units were delivered on schedule, showcasing “Dongfeng acceleration” in overseas markets.
The ability to win consecutive orders from Saudi commercial clients is no coincidence. It stems from Dongfeng’s long‑standing reputation for reliable and durable products, combined with the team’s persistent efforts in localised operations. From a major oil company to a large rental firm, Dongfeng pickups have successively secured orders from industry‑recognised demanding customers, steadily increasing market share in Saudi Arabia and reinforcing the brand’s strong image in the Middle Eastern commercial pickup segment.
As the largest pickup market in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is experiencing rapid growth in infrastructure, new city development, and logistics upgrades under its Vision 2030. The pickup segment, as a versatile commercial vehicle, continues to expand, offering substantial growth potential and cementing its position as a core strategic market for Dongfeng’s global expansion.
Looking ahead, the company will continue to enhance its local sales and service network, improve the full‑lifecycle customer experience, and accelerate the implementation of its “internationalisation leap” strategy. The goal is to move beyond merely “exporting goods” to truly “embedding the brand” in overseas markets, delivering the value of “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” to customers around the world.
