Today, traditional customs, cultural heritage, and distinctive products continue to showcase the vitality of eastern Gansu. The region's vitality is rooted in its rich historical heritage and fueled by modern innovation. Intellectual property (IP) is becoming a bridge connecting the past and the future—preserving the roots of Chinese civilization, unlocking cultural value, and driving industrial upgrading across this ancient land. This is where the first route of our "Touring China, Embracing IP" journey through Gansu begins. 沿着文明脉络在陇原大地一路寻根，首站便来到陇东地区。在这里，远古先民聚居繁衍留下的文明印记历久弥新，传统民俗文化和特色物产资源相得益彰。该地区蓬勃向上的生命力，植根于深厚的文明积淀，也得益于新时代创新发展的持续赋能。知识产权正成为连接历史与未来的纽带，在这片黄土地上守护文明根脉、激活文化价值、赋能产业升级。“起源之旅”由此开启，让我们一起在远古文明的回响与现代创新的脉动中，探寻华夏文明生生不息的源头密码。
Tianshui天水
Tianshui attracts visitors not only with its famous malatang spicy hotpot, but also with its rich historical and cultural heritage. Start your journey at the Fuxi Temple, where a grand ceremony is held around the summer solstice each year to pay tribute to Fuxi, revered as one of the legendary early ancestors of Chinese civilization. Driving northeast, visitors arrive at the Dadiwan site, dating back more than 7,800 years. Archaeological discoveries here, including some of China's earliest dryland farming crop specimens and ancient painted pottery, reveal the development of early agricultural civilization in China. After exploring history, visitors can head to Liuping Town in Qin'an County to taste Qin'an Peach, a sweet and juicy fruit recognized as a Chinese national geographical indication (GI) product. Nearby, the Nanshan Huaniu Apple Base in Maiji District offers a closer look at Huaniu Apple, another GI product from Tianshui famous for its large size and bright red color. At sunset, the journey continues to the Maijishan Grottoes. Perched on cliffs rising more than 100 meters high, the centuries-old clay sculptures renowned for their "Oriental Smile" have touched visitors with their timeless beauty and serenity.

Today, Fuxi culture is being revitalized through digital exhibitions, cultural and creative products, and educational programs, allowing this ancient heritage to connect with modern life.

Growing in the well-known apple-growing zone around 35°N latitude, Huaniu Apple is popular among consumers worldwide and exported to more than 30 countries and regions. Backed by GI certification, the Huaniu apple industry has developed a complete industrial chain with an annual output value exceeding RMB 10.6 billion, creating a successful example of how specialty agriculture can support rural revitalization.
产于北纬35度苹果黄金种植带的花牛苹果深受国内外客商青睐，产品远销30多个国家和地区。从手握国家地理标志产品“金名片”，到全产业链产值突破106亿元，花牛苹果蹚出了一条特色产业引领乡村振兴的“甜蜜路”。
Pingliang平凉
Leaving Tianshui and traveling east, visitors arrive in Pingliang, a region where nature and culture are deeply connected by the philosophy of "Dao," or "the Way." At Chengji Cultural City and Chaonaqiu Lake, visitors can explore ancient legends about the origins of Fuxi and early Chinese understanding of nature and the universe. At Wangmu Palace in Jingchuan, the legend of Xiwangmu (Queen Mother of the West) reflects traditional Chinese ideas of nurturing life and harmony. On Kongtong Mountain, ancient inscriptions tell the story of the Yellow Emperor seeking wisdom from the legendary sage Guangchengzi. The spirit of "Dao" is also reflected in Pingliang's modern development. The Pingliang Red Cattle industry embodies a sustainable agricultural model connecting grassland, livestock, people, and the environment. Jingning Apple embodies the hard work of generations of farmers. For generations, people in Pingliang have adhered to the philosophy of respecting nature and living in harmony with the environment.
告别天水一路向东，便来到了平凉，这里的风物与人文，始终围绕着一个理念——“道”。徜徉于成纪文化城的伏羲大殿和朝那湫的山水之间，探寻华胥氏孕育伏羲、先民探问天地万物的溯源之道。漫步于泾川王母宫，从西王母雕像慈悲凝视人间的眼眸中读出护佑生命的包容之道。登临崆峒山，摩崖石刻记录下黄帝向广成子叩问至道的潜心之道。平凉之道，不仅孕于山河馈赠，还融入人与自然和谐共生的实践中：平凉红牛产业维系着“草—畜—人—地”的生态循环；静宁苹果凝结着农户四季耕耘的劳动成果。在代代相传中，这片土地的人们始终坚守着“顺应天时、顺应自然”的人间之道。

Recognized as China's first registered GI certification trademark for live cattle, Pingliang Red Cattle has become a renowned local brand. In Pingliang, visitors can learn about modern cattle farming practices and taste premium snowflake beef produced from this distinctive breed.
获准注册全国首个活牛类地理标志证明商标，是“平凉红牛”响当当的“金字招牌”。在平凉，看膘肥体壮的肉牛闲了听轻音乐、乏了梳毛按摩，再点上一盘精品雪花牛肉细细品尝，好不惬意！
IP Highlight 2: Kongtong Mountain

Walking along the mountain paths through the Daoist temple complex on Kongtong Mountain, visitors can discover the legendary story of "Seeking the Dao at Kongtong" and experience the wisdom of traditional Chinese philosophy. A performance of Kongtong martial arts, listed as an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) project, offers another opportunity to experience local culture through its graceful yet powerful movements.
沿着依山而建的崆峒山道观群拾级而上，您可以一边追寻“崆峒问道”的历史典故，一边领悟道源深意。要是能在山脚下邂逅一场崆峒武术非遗表演，刚柔并济的招式定会叫您拍手叫好。
Qingyang庆阳
Continuing eastward, visitors arrive in Qingyang, a place that preserves thousands of years of Chinese cultural history. According to legend, the Yellow Emperor discussed medicine with Qibo here, a mythological Chinese doctor, which is why the city is known as the "Birthplace of Qihuang Culture." Qingyang is also regarded as one of the birthplaces of early Zhou civilization. At Zhouzuling Forest Park, visitors can discover traces of the origins of Chinese agricultural civilization. The region's long agricultural tradition has earned Qingyang the title of the "Granary of Eastern Gansu." Qingyang Apple, a national GI product, is a gift from this fertile land. Abundant sunshine and large temperature differences between day and night give the apples their distinctive sweetness and crisp texture. After tasting apples, visitors can explore local ICH workshops and watch artisans create Qingyang Sachet stitch by stitch. As night falls, a visit to Huanzhou Ancient City Shadow Puppet Museum offers a chance to admire exquisite shadow puppet artworks and enjoy authentic Huanxian Daoqing shadow puppetry performances, bringing this journey through the origins of Chinese civilization to a memorable conclusion.
继续往东走，我们来到了承载着绵延千年的华夏文明记忆的庆阳。相传轩辕黄帝曾与岐伯在此论医问道，因此庆阳被称为“岐黄故里”。这里也是周先祖的诞生地，漫步于周祖陵森林公园，感受藏于其中的中华农耕文明肇始的印记。悠久的农耕文化带给了庆阳“陇东粮仓”的美誉，国家地理标志产品庆阳苹果便是这片土地的天然馈赠，充足的光照、适宜的昼夜温差让每一口苹果都清甜爽脆。品尝完苹果的甘甜，便可前往庆阳香包非遗工坊，看绣娘一针一线缝制香包。夜幕降临，到环州故城皮影馆逛一圈，欣赏雕工精巧的珍贵皮影藏品，再听一场原汁原味的环县道情皮影戏，为这场追溯华夏文明起源的旅程画上圆满句号。

Visitors can follow the footsteps of the Yellow Emperor and Qibo at Qibo Scenic Area, appreciate calligraphy inspired by Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon), and experience traditions through wellness cuisine and herbal baths. This creates a cultural journey combining sightseeing, learning, and health experiences.
白天您可以在岐伯圣景区追寻黄帝与岐伯论医问道的历史足迹，在《黄帝内经》千家碑林赏书法，晚上去药王洞养生小镇品养生美食、泡药浴温泉，开启一场“可游、可品、可养”的岐黄文化之旅。

The annual Qingyang Sachet Folk Culture Festival has brought this nationally recognized GI product into the spotlight. Generations of ICH inheritors have combined traditional embroidery techniques with modern creativity, helping Qingyang Sachet products reach more than 20 countries and regions. Today, these handcrafted sachets serve as a cultural bridge connecting China and the world.
每年的庆阳香包民俗文化节，都让国家地理标志产品庆阳香包“火爆出圈”。一代代非遗传承人将传统绣制技艺与现代创意巧妙融合，让这一手工艺品远销20多个国家和地区，成为连接中国与世界的文化纽带。
