6 days / 5 nights Youth Sailing Camp in Suzhou - July & August!

The SAIL GLOBAL Youth Sailing Camp is all about fun, friends, adventure and learning life-long skills on the water. Our goal is to provide access to sailing for girls and boys, age 10 and older with no sailing experience. We build self-esteem, teamwork and a respect for the environment. We run programs in instruction, competitive racing, and community outreach. 

When the camp is completed, your children will become the skipper of your family boating trip and learn to take more responsibility. As the founder of SAIL GLOBAL Chris concluded:

It helps to expand upon their social skills. Teens interact with others from all walks of life. Their new friends will be as diverse and bring norms and behaviors from every corner of the world.

Our sailing camps for teenagers have always been grounded in experiential education. Students have a greater feeling of accomplishment from having completed things by themselves. In addition, self-reliance and confidence soar from achieving new skills and certifications.

Rotating through every role aboard the vessel, both on deck and off deck, SAIL GLOBAL sailing camp students become experienced crew members by the end of the journey.

Sailing and instruction is naturally a huge part of our summer camps for teens. SAIL GLOBAL is an American Sailing Association (ASA ) partner school. On our summer sailing camp, we teach sailing through the ASA certification global scheme, a modular training program designed to develop skills from beginner through to the professional level.

Hands-on experience is the best way to learn to sail, so our emphasis is on learning by doing. Weather permitting, youths will be sailing 80% of the time .

The candidates have to be at least 10 years old or older who can communicate in English.

The sailing base is located in the East Taihu Lake Ecological Park by Suzhou bay, Wujiang, Suhzou, Jiangsu, China. It is a place full of atmosphere and culture of sailing with excellent sailing facilities including club house, tents, docks, J80s, Topcats catamaran, Kayaks, SUPs, dinghies and so on. The sailing area is stable for beginner to practice plus safety baot patrolling on the water in case emergency occurs.

The base is surrounded by a huge ecological park combined by forests, large lawns, bicycle tracks and karting race track, which is an ideal place for youths to explore and have fun.

The hotel SAIL GLOBAL selected is comfort class. Every two campers share a twin room. SAIL GLOBAL team will offer healthy and fresh food every day and cater to the preferences of campers according to their feedback. There will be stuff in charge of escorting  campers back and forth form hotel to the camp site. Campers can enjoy free flow of water and drinks but alcohol is not permitted.

The tuition of the SAIL GLOBAL Youth Sailing Camp (6 days and 5 nights) is RMB 8,800 which covers theory and practical part, handbooks, exam and ASA certificates, facilities (boat etc.), hotel and full board.

Early birds get 10% discount till 18th June. 

3 or more candidates sign up together can enjoy a group discount of 10% of original price.

The maximum discount for each camper is no more than 10% which means those who have missed the chance of getting early bird price could get the same discount through grouping reservation and a camper can only enjoy one kind of discount at a time.

From now on, SAIL GLOBAL accept  reservation for experiential sailing of families who have interests in sailing camp but are not sure whether the youth will love it or not . When feel it in person, you will get your answer. It’s worth to mention that there is also the Family Sailing Program to offer for those families that hope to have memorable and pleasant parent and children time on water. The parents will learn sailing with children as a team to improve mutual interaction and understanding. There had been very successful cases SAIL GOBAL had completed earlier this year. 

American Sailing Association (ASA for short), is an association of sailing schools, charter companies, professional sailing instructors and sailors, with over 350 affiliated sailing schools located throughout the U.S., as well as in Europe, Central America, China, Japan and other far eastern countries.

To date ASA schools have certified nearly half a million sailors around the world! The ASA system has graded levels of student certification from Basic Keelboat all the way to Offshore Passage making. With a qualified ASA certificate, you can skipper or charter a sailboat in most the sea  areas all over the world.

The instructor Chris is a sailing expert. Before he devoted into sailing, he was working as a Managing Director for an international company in Shanghai. He started with sailing more than 35 years ago and since that time sailing is his passion. He also has rich experience (+20 years), of global sailing cruising across Mediterranean Sea, Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean and Asia.

SAIL GLOBAL is a professional sailing services company that is established by the Austrian global sailing enthuast Christian and the Co-founder Jane Ran in 2019. SAIL GLOBAL is committed to promote sailing cruise lifestyle in China and provide quality of sailing services including domestic and overseas holiday sailing, sailing course and events. Absolutely! Wearing a life jacket when you use our equipment is one of those things we won’t budge on. But we’ll give you one that fits perfectly, and our team will help you however they can with putting it on, checking the zippers, and making sure your it’s safe and you’re snug as a bug! You must wear your life jacket for the entirety of your boating.

Possibly, but you know what? It’s actually quite normal. The boats are very stable when you’re sitting in them, but when you stand up, you shouldn’t be surprised to find that capsizing is very likely!  But don’t worry. You will be wearing a life jacket and man overboard is seldom to happen.

You should wear any clothing that will protect you from the sun. Hat, sunglasses, sailing gloves, clothing you don’t mind getting wet, and close-toed shoes. If it’s cool outside, or rain is in the forecast, remember that it’s often cooler on the water than it is on land! So  you also need to prepare windproof and rainproof clothing. And make sure you have extra dry and clean clothes to change when you back to the land.

Also bring  water (provided for free), and a plastic bag to pick up trash or put your wet clothes in. Ziplock bags are useful to seal up anything you really want to keep dry when on board.

Last but the most important,  always take sun cream!
