To further facilitate international exchanges and attract foreign talent, China has introduced a new K Visa category, which will come into effect on October 1, 2025. This visa is designed to streamline entry for specific groups of foreigners, complementing existing work (Z Visa) and business (M Visa) visas.
1.Who is eligible to apply?
The K visa is issued to young foreign scientific and technological talents who have graduated from renowned domestic or international universities or research institutions in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics and have obtained corresponding academic degrees (bachelor's degree or above), or who are engaged in related professional education or research work at such institutions.
2.What’s the difference comparing with the study visa or business visa or work visa? What kind of documents are needed?
Compared to the existing 12 categories of ordinary visas, the K visa will provide more convenience in terms of the number of entries, validity period, and duration of stay for the holder.
Holders can engage in activities such as exchanges in education, science, technology, and culture, as well as entrepreneurship and business after entering China. The K visa only has specific requirements regarding age, educational background, or work experience and does not require a domestic employer or inviting unit. The application process will also be more convenient.
So, that’s all for today, if you have any questions regarding visiting, working or doing business in China ,you are welcome to contact me.
