King & Wood hosts Vancouver Office Opening Reception
On May 21, 2026, King & Wood hosted its Vancouver Office Opening Reception at the Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver, welcoming clients and guests from across Vancouver, alongside nearly twenty partners from the firm's China and North America offices.
Mr. Hu Zaichi, Co-Lead Partner of the King & Wood Vancouver Office, delivered the opening welcome address and introduced the speakers. The Honourable Yuen Pau Woo, Member of the Senate of Canada; Mr. Steve Di Fruscia, Member of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) British Columbia Chapter Advisory Council; and Mr. Wang Rongkang, Member of the King & Wood Management Committee and Global Chief Operating Officer, delivered remarks successively.
Senator Woo traveled specially to Vancouver to attend the event. In his address, he expressed high expectations for the King & Wood Vancouver office to play a vital role as a bridge in advancing Canada-China economic and trade relations and promoting corporate compliance. Mr. Di Fruscia warmly welcomed the establishment of the office, emphasizing its critical value in driving bilateral commercial investment and business engagement. Reflecting on the firm's journey and its steadfast commitment to international expansion, Mr. Wang Rongkang noted that in today's increasingly complex macro-environment, where cross-border regulatory and compliance policies continue to evolve, the Vancouver office is uniquely positioned to leverage its professional expertise to help clients identify opportunities, manage risks, and robustly safeguard their legal rights in the global marketplace.
During the roundtable discussion session, moderated by Mr. Liu Cheng, Co-Lead Partner of the King & Wood Vancouver office, six partners from the firm's China and North America offices shared insights on cross-border transactions and disputes from Chinese, Canadian, and U.S. perspectives. As the co-organizer, the CCBC provided invaluable support for the event.
The new Vancouver office is an extension of King & Wood's global service network and marks a key milestone in the firm's international strategy. The Vancouver office will focus on delivering coordinated China–Canada legal services, working alongside local partners to support Chinese and Canadian enterprises and investors as they collaborate and expand into both markets.
