A 2-ton shipment of Pakistani mangoes, the first to reach Xinjiang, China, this year, has cleared customs and entered markets in Kashgar and Korla, adding fresh imported fruit supplies to the region. The mangoes entered Xinjiang through a land port between China and Pakistan.
To ensure fruit quality during transportation, customs introduced a dedicated clearance process. This included advance coordination with enterprises, guidance on preparing declaration documents, and communication with Pakistani customs on transport updates, CEN reported on Friday.
Pakistan seeks to expand overseas markets for its mango exports.
On May 12, 2026, Pakistani agricultural authorities and industry representatives discussed the mango export season and measures to promote overseas sales, focusing on improving export channels and reaching more international markets.

SuperWize, Pakistan's sovereign AI company, and ABHI (Private) Limited has announced a partnership on Thursday, which ABHI will use SuperWize's sovereign AI models and the two companies will work together to implement AI across ABHI's operations in Pakistan.
With this partnership, ABHI will build its AI initiatives on SuperWize's sovereign models, hosted and processed entirely in-country, supporting compliance with Pakistani data protection and regulatory requirements.
The companies will jointly identify and deploy AI use cases across ABHI's business, spanning customer support and conversational interfaces in English and Urdu, credit and risk workflows, and payroll and back-office automation.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has announced an investment of up to $20 million in Novatex Limited, Pakistan's leading plastic packaging manufacturer, to support the import of essential raw materials and equipment, aimed at strengthening export competitiveness, sustaining jobs and promoting environmentally sustainable production, a World Bank news release said on Friday.
The IFC said the financing would help strengthen Pakistan's packaging industry, which serves key export-oriented sectors including food processing, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.
The investment would enable Novatex to import critical raw materials and machinery, ensuring a stable domestic supply of plastic packaging materials.
This is expected to reduce reliance on imports and enhance the resilience of local supply chains.
The financing is also expected to help sustain employment, preserve export earnings and protect downstream industries from supply disruptions.
The investment supports IFC's sustainability agenda, as Novatex operates large-scale polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling plants and is expanding its recycled PET (rPET) production capacity.
This contributes to Pakistan's transition toward a circular economy in the packaging sector.
IFC will also assist the company in aligning its operations with the corporation's environmental and social performance standards.
"Pakistan's long-term economic growth depends on sustaining competitive, export-oriented industries that create jobs, generate foreign exchange, and invest for the future," said Wagner Albuquerque de Almeida, IFC Director for Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services for the Middle East and Central Asia.
He said IFC's investment in Novatex would help sustain employment, support export competitiveness, strengthen the resilience of a key manufacturing sector, and advance more sustainable production practices.
Novatex Chief Executive Officer Rizwan Diwan described IFC as an important financial partner for Pakistani corporates, saying the investment marked the beginning of a broader partnership between the two organisations.
