同期巴仅进口手机 255 万台，凸显本土生产在满足内需方面作用日益关键。上半年总产量中，2G 手机 732 万台，智能手机 578 万台。市场格局快速演变，仅 2026 年 5 月，巴本土即组装 5G 手机超 10 万台，新一代通信技术占比持续提升。

2026 年上半年各品牌本土组装产量如下：VGO TEL 以 186 万台居首；传音旗下 Infinix（134 万台）、Itel（89 万台）、TECNO（83 万台）紧随其后；vivo 产量为 78 万台。三星以 77 万台位列其后，诺基亚与 ONKA 均为 70 万台；X‑Mobile 为 52 万台，OPPO 与 QMobile 同为 48 万台。

数据表明，智能手机生产已成为巴本土手机产业核心。5G 手机的投产为行业增添新看点，标志着厂商已将下一代通信机型纳入本土生产清单。在此轮转型中，中国品牌凭借在平价与中端赛道的优势发挥关键作用，推动本土组装智能机在市场中的地位愈发重要。

Pakistan assembled 13.1 million mobile devices during January-June 2026, with Chinese brands occupying several leading positions as local handset production continues to expand toward smartphones and 5G devices, according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) data.

During this period, Pakistan imported only 2.55 million mobile phones, highlighting the growing role of local production in meeting domestic demand.

The six-month production comprised 7.32 million 2G phones and 5.78 million smartphones. Within this rapidly changing market, 101,005 5G-enabled handsets were assembled locally in May 2026 alone, highlighting the growing presence of the latest mobile technology in Pakistan's domestic production sector.

The 2026 brand figures show VGO TEL leading local assembly with 1.86 million devices during January-June, followed by Infinix at 1.34 million. Itel recorded 0.89 million, while TECNO and Vivo stood at 0.83 million and 0.78 million, respectively.

Samsung followed with 0.77 million units, while Nokia recorded 0.70 million. The chart also shows ONKA at 0.70 million, X Mobile at 0.52 million, Oppo at 0.48 million and QMobile at 0.48 million.

The latest numbers show that smartphone production has become a major part of Pakistan's domestic mobile industry. Of the 13.1 million devices assembled in the first half of 2026, 5.78 million were smartphones, while 7.32 million were 2G handsets.

The rollout of locally assembled 5G devices adds a new dimension to the 2026 figures. The 101,005 5G handsets assembled in May alone indicate that manufacturers are beginning to introduce next-generation devices into Pakistan's local production mix.

Chinese brands remain central to this shift, particularly in the affordable and mid-range smartphone market. Their presence among the leading producers has helped make locally assembled smartphones an increasingly important part of Pakistan's mobile market.

巴基斯坦海事事务联邦部长朱奈德·安瓦尔·乔杜里宣布，计划在卡西姆港划出 150 英亩土地打造汽车加工园区。该项目定位为巴首个面向汽车行业的“进口 - 翻新 - 出口”（AIRE）综合基地，后续将依市场需求分阶段扩建。

据预估，该产业园出口额有望达 5 亿美元，每年可创造约 2 亿美元外汇净盈余。园区将集商贸、车辆翻新、机械堆场、展示区及零配件供应于一体，构建依托港口的完整生态。

拟建园区毗邻连通南亚、海湾与东非的阿拉伯海航运通道，有望带动区域汽车贸易。伊利亚斯少将指出，分期建设模式不仅灵活适配需求，未来还可作为范本推广至巴其他地区。

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on Wednesday announced plans to establish an automotive processing zone on 150 acres at Port Qasim, envisioned as the country's first dedicated Import-Refurbishment-Export (AIRE) framework for the automotive sector, with the facility to be expanded in phases according to market demand.

The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) Chairman Rear Admiral (Retd) Syed Moazzam Ilyas and members of the PQA Board.

The minister said the auto zone would be expanded in phases after completion of the first phase, allowing the project to grow with market demand.

Project proponents estimate the AIRE Park could generate an annual net foreign exchange surplus of around $200 million, based on estimated exports of $500 million.

The facility is also expected to bring commercial activities, refurbishment facilities, machinery yards, vehicle displays and spare-parts suppliers into a single port-based ecosystem.

The proposed zone would sit along the Arabian Sea shipping corridor connecting South Asia with the Gulf and East Africa, potentially facilitating regional vehicle trade.

Rear Admiral (Retd) Syed Moazzam Ilyas said the phased approach would allow the project to expand according to market demand, adding it could serve as a model for establishing similar automotive zones elsewhere in the country.

Chinese Honglian Hybrid Rice Powers Pakistani Agriculture

第二届红莲型杂交水稻改良育种国际研讨会于 8 月 8 日至 10 日在湖北罗田举办。会上，中巴专家展示了联合科研成果，并分享了红莲型杂交水稻为巴种植户带来的显著经济效益。

红莲型杂交水稻由武汉大学已故朱英国院士研发，是全球三大细胞质雄性不育体系之一。该品种具备耐热性强、适应性广、米质优良等优势，不仅在中国华南广泛种植，更推广至巴基斯坦、马来西亚等“一带一路”共建国家。

武汉大学党委副书记屈文谦表示，该品种已为中国及共建国家创造超 90 亿元人民币直接效益。朱仁山教授强调，罗田基地在保障国内种业安全的同时，正通过技术输出助力全球粮食安全。

旁遮普大学穆罕默德·阿什法克博士指出，巴约三分之一稻田种植糙米，若替换为杂交水稻，产量有望翻倍。他表示：“信德省、俾路支省及旁遮普省南部均适合推广。引进红莲型杂交水稻将成倍提升产量，为农户增收数十亿卢比，拉动整体经济。”

武汉大学与旁遮普大学于 2020 年共建联合研究中心。经多点试验，红莲杂交水稻品种 HP4 于 2025 年在巴正式注册（名称 PU‑786），并于 2026 年实现全国商业化种植。该品种耐热、抗病虫害，对当地水资源短缺及土壤退化问题适应良好，表现亮眼。

The 2nd International Symposium on Improved-Variety Breeding of Honglian Type Hybrid Rice was held in Luotian, Hubei from August 8 to 10. During the event, Chinese and Pakistani professionals highlighted their joint rice research achievements and the tangible economic benefits that Honglian hybrid rice brings to Pakistani growers.

Honglian hybrid rice is a pioneering breakthrough developed by the late academician Zhu Yingguo of Wuhan University, ranking among the world's three major cytoplasmic male sterility systems alongside China's Wild Abortive type and Japan's BT type. Boasting inherent genetic advantages such as heat tolerance, wide adaptability, and premium grain quality, Honglian hybrid rice is widely grown across South China, as well as Belt and Road nations including Pakistan, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Qu Wenqian, Deputy Party Secretary of Wuhan University, noted that Honglian hybrid rice has generated over RMB 9 billion in direct economic benefits in China and Belt and Road partner countries so far. Professor Zhu Renshan of Wuhan University stressed that the Luotian base safeguards domestic seed security and shares its strengths to secure food supplies for global partners.

According to Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq from the University of the Punjab, about one-third of the rice cultivation area in Pakistan is dedicated to coarse rice, the production of which can be doubled if replaced with hybrid rice. "There is scope for hybrid rice in Sindh, Balochistan and southern Punjab. With the adoption of Honglian Type hybrid rice, production will increase manifold, adding billions of rupees to the income of farmers and the economy of Pakistan," he said at the symposium.

A Joint Research Center of Honglian Type Hybrid Rice was established by Wuhan University and the University of the Punjab in 2020. After multi-location trials across Pakistan's four rice zones, the Honglian hybrid rice variety HP4—one of nine hybrid lines tested—was officially registered in Pakistan as PU-786 in 2025. Following national commercial approval, it launched commercial cultivation nationwide in 2026, standing out for its heat tolerance, pest and disease resistance, and broad adaptability to the water shortages and degraded soil plaguing local farms.
