Zijin Starts Congo Lithium Exports to China
China's Zijin has begun exporting lithium concentrate from its Manono project in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Reuters reported. Shipments started in June as planned and are all bound for China.
7月17日，据路透社报道，中国紫金矿业已开始从刚果民主共和国的马诺诺项目出口锂精矿。据悉，出口已于6月按计划启动，所有货物均运往中国。
The shipments mark Congo's first lithium exports.
这批出口标志着刚果民主共和国首次出口锂精矿。
Manono, one of the world's largest undeveloped hard-rock lithium deposits, has been at the centre of a legal dispute since Congo revoked Australian miner AVZ Minerals' permit and transferred part of the project to Manono Lithium.
马诺诺是全球最大的未开发硬岩型锂矿床之一。此前，刚果民主共和国政府撤销了澳大利亚矿企AVZ Minerals的许可证，并将项目的部分权益转让给了Manono Lithium公司，此举引发了法律纠纷。
The venture is 54.9% owned by Zijin, with state miner Cominiere holding 35.1% and the Congolese government the remaining 10%.

A mining executive said initial exports were likely trial shipments after technical issues delayed commissioning of the processing plant.

One trader said exports began in June but have remained limited, estimating volumes at just a few thousand tonnes, while another said the mine has already produced tens of thousands of tonnes of concentrate, much of which is still in transit and is unlikely to arrive in China before October.

Zijin aims to produce 30,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent from Manono in 2026. Designed to process 5 million tonnes of ore annually, the project is expected to produce around 1 million tonnes of spodumene concentrate each year.
紫金矿业计划在2026年从马诺诺项目产出3万吨碳酸锂当量。该项目设计年处理矿石500万吨，每产约100万吨锂辉石精矿。
