Here's a list we've created for things that you should try to do when you've actually arrived in China. It will help set you up for your journey and will stop the jetlag from feeling so bad the following day! |

1.Get Public Transportation card if not already got.

2.Prepare all of your documents for when you need to apply for your residence permit.

| 3.Get to know your surroundings. | ||||
| 4.Depending on the time you arrived, you could have a quick nap. | ||||
| 5.Keep yourself busy. | ||||
| 6.Set up Chinese bank account with wechat/alipay. | ||||
7.Suggestions for bank account as only certain cards are accepted: such as Industrial Bank,Bank of China,The Bank of China is probably the most foreign friendly, or the China Citic Bank, many services in their banks can be provided in English.

| 8.Create a plan of things you'd like to do whilst you're here. | ||||
9.Head to your local supermarket and stock up on items such as water, as it’s recommended that you shouldn’t drink the water from the taps in China. |

| 10.Get to know your neighbours, they’re likely going to be your classmates too! Ask your roommate, or one-to-one partner to help you set up your internet and wifi. |
11.Prepare for your study, i.e. buy books, pens, pencils etc.
12.Ask your one-to-one buddy any questions you have, and ask them to help you set anything up.
13.If you haven't already done so, download WeChat!
