Guiyang University (GYU) is located in Guizhou Shuanglong (Longdongbao and Longli) Airport Economic Development zone. It was approved by China ’s Ministry of Education to establish as a university in May, 2004 by merging Guiyang Teacher’s College and Jinzhu University . Guiyang Teacher’s School, a famous school with century history was later included in 2009. It was previously advocated and formed by Li Duanfen, an influential official in late Qing Dynasty in 1902.

GYU was awarded the Beautiful Campus of Guizhou Province, the Green University of Guizhou Province and Culture-characterized School .
GYU established 16 schools including School of Economics and Management, School of Marxism, School of Education Science, School of Physical Education, School of Culture and Media, School of Foreign Languages, School of Fine Arts, School of Music, School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Food and Pharmaceutical Engineering, School of Mechanics Engineering, School of Urban and Rural Planning and Architectural Engineering, School of Mathematics and Information Science, School of Chemistry and Material Engineering, School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, School of Laws. There are now 563 full-time teachers with an increasing proportion of Doctors and Professors. 50 degree programs offered cover 10 disciplines including engineering, science, education, literature, law, agriculture, economics, management, arts, and medicine. There are around 11000 registered full-time students.

*Subsistence allowance is paid according to monthly performance, as determined at the end of the year with an average score out of 100.
· 60 and below: 0
· 60-70: RMB 300/Month
· 70-80: RMB 400/Month
· 80-100: RMB 500/Month
Awards:
For HSK completion:
· Pass HSK 3 successfully: RMB500
· Pass HSK 4 successfully: RMB1000
· Pass HSK 5 successfully: RMB 1500.
For degree students:
· Top 30% in yearly comprehensive evaluation: 500 RMB
· Top 20%: 1000 RMB
· Top 10%: 1500 RMB

6. Students must have HSK 4 for degree study, otherwise, they have to study one year Chinese with tuition fee wavier.
