Recently, a set of spy photos featuring the test prototype of the Volkswagen ID.Tiguan has leaked online. Built on the MEB+ platform, the new model serves as the successor to the Volkswagen ID.4. According to Volkswagen officials, current ID.4 inventories in local markets will suffice to meet customer demand through 2027, after which the ID.Tiguan will launch as its replacement model for sales.
In terms of exterior design, the vehicle receives comprehensive upgrades. The front end adopts a brand-new closed grille, while the front bumper features optimized airflow-guiding structures. The lower air intake is restyled with horizontal trim strips, and a central sensor module has been added to boost intelligence and practicality.
Multiple subtle tweaks have been made to the side body lines. The shoulder line runs smoother and more streamlined, and the rear quarter window together with the D-pillar structure has been redesigned for a more refined and cohesive overall silhouette. At the rear, a restyled tailgate is fitted alongside updated bumpers and diffuser styling. The full-width taillights carry forward the iconic design language of Volkswagen’s all-electric lineup, delivering strong brand recognizability.
The cabin is expected to feature a redesigned instrument cluster and multifunctional steering wheel, paired with a next-generation infotainment system with enhanced interactive performance. For powertrain and range performance, two battery pack options will be available, matched with an all-new upgraded electric motor system. Volkswagen is poised to unveil full official details of this new SUV between late 2026 and early 2027.
