We take 6 ethnic minorities as examples to introduce Chinese ethnic culture:
Manchu, Dai, Miao, Korean, Hui, Mongolian.
B. Dai ethnic minority
Population and Distribution
The Dai nationality has a population of 1,620,000 people with 1,014,000 of them mainly living in the district of Dehong Prefecture and Xishuangbanna.
Food
Dai people like sticky food.
They prefer savory, spicy and acid food.
The methods of cooking are roasting, steaming, chopping and pickling.
The taboos of Dai nationality
Taboo outsiders riding horses, goading cows, carrying a load, having disheveled hair into the stockade.
You should take shoes off at the door when you enter into a bamboo house.
Walk lightly in the room.
Do not sit above the fireplace, or across the fireplace.
Keep yourself out of the inner room of the host.
Do not sit on the threshold.
Marriage customs

The Dai minority families have a strong matriarchal social system. When men and women get married, women have absolute authority in their homes.
Water-splashing festival
The Dai minority is the biggest ethnic group in Yunnan Province, which is home to about half of China's 55 minority nationalities. Legend goes that in ancient times, the ancestors of the Dai people tried to find a place to settle down. They walked along rivers, from on place to another. At least, they found an oasis on the Tropic of Cancer. Since then they have had close relation with water.
Dai ethnic architecture
The bamboo houses, which have a long history, use bamboo, wood, thatched for building materials. It is divided into two layers with the upstairs living people and the downstairs raising livestocks and piling up sundries.
