《传道书》是《圣经》中非常好的一部人生感悟，其核心论点是：日光之下的人生都是虚空的，所以要在日光之下过一个日光之上的人生。
《传道书》中说，太阳底下没有新鲜事，反过来说，新鲜事在太阳之上。寻找人生的意义，不应该在这个世界找，而是要在神的国度中寻找。
人就是这样奇怪的，但凡有一点希望，总不信神。传道者以一个过来人的身份阐述了人生的希望都是虚空，人在这之上才能真正去认识神，跟随神。
正如马丁路德所说：基督徒不是为自己活，乃是为基督和他的邻居活，不然，他就不是基督徒。一个人若为基督活，就不会虚空，人生就有方向，有光明，有喜乐。
