Following a phenomenal Shanghai debut in 2013, Godspeed You! Black Emperor are returning to Shanghai for 2016. Excited? You should be.
Godspeed's show at Qianshuiwan in the spring of 2013 was easily one of the performances of the year, melding their absorbing instrumental rock with hypnotic live visuals and leaving audience members babbling incoherently about how good it was afterwards.

Promoters Split Works are bringing them to town once more as part of a tasty looking start to 2016 for the people behind Echo Park Festival, with Mika, Metz and John Grant all due in Shanghai before Easter, plus Destroyer, Lambchop and Damien Rice all on the cards ahead of the summer.
However, Split Works have confirmed that their regular multi-arts extravaganza JUE will be taking a year off next year, allowing them to focus on the return in 2016 of Echo Park - which just won our Festival of the Year Award.

Godspeed's show will be in early March, with the venue yet to be announced (we're guessing it'll be QSW again, but will keep you posted).
