Billed as a celebration of the city, Nexxus will be bringing together locally-based artists along with international headliners at the massive new exhibition centre in Hongqiao. Paul Oakenfold, Norman Doray and KSHMR are the big names jetting in for the all-day party, while the line-up also features Shanghai hip hoppers Busy Gang and locally-based producer Conrank reprising his collaboration with renowned world music singer Sa Dingding.
The Second Shanghai Baroque Festival
Friday 18-Sunday 20, Shanghai Symphony Hall

Conductor David Stern and his Opera Fuoco return to present Shanghai's Second Baroque Festival, a three-day programme featuring some of the best of early music. The festival kicks off with Handel's opera Alcina (Friday 18), then day two features a mixed programme of Bach, Telemann, C.P.E. Bach and Mozart, featuring soprano Gu Wenmeng (Saturday 19). Finally, British mezzo-soprano Alice Coote presents a selection of Handel's opera works, as well as some traditional period favourites (Sunday 20).
múm
Friday 18, MAO Livehouse

Sitting somewhere between the oscillating, electronic-tinged instrumental rock of Tortoise and the shuffle-along Balkan jazz-influenced rhythms of Beirut, Icelandic outfit múm (pronounced ‘moom’) have built a loyal fanbase across the globe over the course of nearly two decades together. Now, they're making their Shanghai debut.
