Whilst many Shanghai hotels are offering special packages this February 14, one in particular stands out from the crowd. The Ritz-Carlton Pudong is offering lovers with deep pockets a chance to experience an unforgettable Valentine’s Day for the definitely unforgettable price of 1.5 million RMB.

We thought the luxury hotel's Valentine's deal last year was pretty pricey, but now it looks a mere snip at 399,999RMB. This year, however, the hotel have pulled out all the stops.

For that big wadge of cash, the lucky lovers will spend two nights in the hotel's Presidential Suite, decorated with precisely 9,999 roses. Admire (and count) those while you can, because the rest of the weekend includes being whisked away down the Huangpu on a private luxury yacht, drinking individually-named cocktails at the hotel's Flair bar, having a private photo shoot on the bar's terrace, and hosting a private Valentine's party with friends.

And should the pair of your feel truly bitten by that love-bug, the package even includes a wedding and wedding photos, right then and there on the terrace (we suggest making that decision before you drink too many custom-made cocktails). As for the rest, the big spenders can expect a Kaluga Caviar feast from French executive Chef Sandra Gamba, a red carpet arrival, a luxury double chocolate spa treatments, and private custom-made welcome gifts, including champagne and bathrobes.

If you're doing the sums and think you're still being short-changed, put down your calculator. Not only do you get your luxurious hotel stay (and possibly get hitched) in Shanghai, you will then be flown first-class (obviously) to Italy to meet the owner behind Pagani supercars at the 2016 annual eight-day supercar gathering in Venice. Afterwards you'll get to join him for a private dinner, and finish up with your own test drive of their latest supercar. Who said money can't buy you love?

For those with a slightly lower budget in mind, don't despair - there are plenty of other ways to show your love this Valentine's. Check out our Valentine's Day coverage online for the latest deals and ideas for romance.
