After revealing the official opening date last month, Disneyland Shanghai have now announced their admission prices for entry to the magical kingdom as well as the date you’ll be able to get your hands on them.
Tickets for the grand opening period (June 16-30) and peak times (public holidays, weekends and July and August) are priced at 499RMB, with off-peak tickets costing 370RMB. Tickets for children, seniors and guests with disabilities will have a 25 percent discount, with free admission for infants (height 1m and below). If you think one day won’t be enough, two-day passes are available with a five percent discount on the normal price.
Tickets go on sale from March 28, and can be purchased by visiting the official Shanghai Disney Resort website, by calling their hotline on 400-180-0000 or 86-21-31580000, or from one of their official travel partners, details of which are also on their website.
Ticket prices at Disney's first park on the Chinese mainland compare favourably with its Asian counterparts. The cheapest standard tickets for Disneyland Tokyo are 6900JPY (379RMB), with entry to the Hong Kong park setting you back 539HKD (455RMB).
One ticket will give you access to the entire Disneyland park and its 'world-class family entertainment and immersive storytelling experiences', however 'The Lion King' production will require an extra ticket which can be purchased by the same means listed above.
Why are tickets more expensive on holidays and weekends? A press release from Disney said: "This is one way we are managing the extraordinary demand we anticipate for our park in order to deliver a world-class experience for our guests. To avoid days with high demand, guests may want to consider visiting during our regular priced periods."
Disneyland are also set to shortly unveil a mobile app from which punters can learn more about the park and, of course, buy tickets. The park will swing open its doors on June 16.
