Their Vision, Your Mission
Saturday 5 December, Glam

Check out a series of photos from migrant children who were given digital cameras by Hands On Shanghai and asked to capture moments from their everyday lives, with no formal training. Proceeds from the exhibition (entry is 150RMB on the door) will go to helping Hands On Shanghai expand this initiative to more children.
Future Brown

The Shelter is turning eight this week and to help them celebrate they've brought in an outstanding line-up. Underground electronic super group Future Brown - consisting of Fatima Al Qadiri, Nguzunguzu and J-Cush - top the bill with their mix of global street sounds. Joining them will be grime MC Roachee, formerly of group Roll Deep.
Sand and a Distant Star

Legendary director and playwright Stan Lai finally has his own dedicated theatre space - in a Xujiahui shopping mall. He's hoping to revolutionise the city's dramatic arts scene with Theatre Above, which will feature English language subtitles for all of its shows. The first of these is his dramedy Sand and a Distant Star, featuring Crouching Tiger actress Cheng Peipei.

Moon Duo + Battles

Moon Duo return to China (now as a trio) with their brand of chug-along psych-rock and are joined by the equally excellent Battles, whose recent album La Di Da Di features brilliant bursts of instrumental electronic-tinged rock. They're joined by local future-rockers Duck Fight Goose to make for a top class line-up.
