There are a lot of questions about the availability of organic food in China. You can find plenty of food in China that claims it is organic, but it ultimately may not be what you (or anyone) would consider organic. As a result of China’s rapid industrial growth in the past few decades, China is experiencing many environmental problems with pollution. Locally grown "organic" vegetables are available in upscale supermarkets; while organic fruits are harder to come by.

These vegetables, while claiming to be organic, are often grown in soils that do not meet international standards for organic produce. So while they are correct in communicating that there were no chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers used during growth, they are likely grown in soil that isn't very clean and being watered with water that is also highly polluted. China’s soil and water sources contain large amounts of heavy metals, like lead and cadmium, released by industrial waste water.
Luckily Organic Vegetable Farms Exist!
