The best of the week
Yes, this week's so good we've got 7 things we had to share with you. Go forth and bask in the glow of high quality events and activities.

Tiesto
Tue 23, MYST, 580RMB
It seems Mr Tiesto just can't get enough of Shanghai. Nor, apparently, can Shanghai get enough of him. The Dutch 'EDM' superstar is back once again - this time at MYST.
Elsewhere, local club music collective Co:Motion celebrate their second release as Cignarale drops his Things in Life EP at DADA on Saturday night. Laura Ingalls, MIIIA, Raz and Mau Mau support.

The Royal Shakespeare Company: King and Country
Thu 25 - Sun 28, Shanghai Grand Theatre, 80-880RMB
The RSC lands in Shanghai as part of their landmark tour of China, bringing a stellar cast to perform three Henrys over four days (Henry IV Part I on Thursday, Henry IV Part II on Friday and Henry V on Saturday and Sunday) in what will most likely the best theatre experience Shanghai will see all year. Check out our full preview of the RSC in Shanghai.
And in classical music, Estonian conductor Paavo Jarvi brings rarely heard Czech symphonic poem cycle Ma Vlast - Smetana’s cycle of six tone poems - to the Shanghai Symphony Orchesta Hall on Saturday. Hearing the complete work outside the Czech Republic is rare, which makes this concert both rewarding and refreshing. See full event details by clicking 'read more' below.

Mika
Thu 25 - Fri 26, QSW Arts Centre, 380RMB
One pop star who lives up to the 'popular' tag in China, Mika returns to Shanghai for back-to-back gigs at QSW. We've got an extended interview with Mika that you can check out on our music page. Tickets for the Friday are now sold out, so you need to get on those Thursday night tickets instead.

And if that's not enough pop for you for one week, you'll certainly get your fill from Aussie heartthrobs 5 Seconds of Summer who play the Shanghai Grand Stage on Saturday. Expect thought-provoking material including 'She Looks So Perfect' and 'She's Kinda Hot'.

Café of the week: Jarajam
Our favourite time to visit Jarajam is in the mornings, when things are sleepy and slow, and the pastries and muffins are fresh out of the oven. Relaxed seating and friendly service help you settle into this warm little café, and it’s easy to spend a few hours here watching the bustle of Wuyuan Lu through the large street-side window. Grab a seat while you can.
