BFC Yongkang Bar Crawl

Best Friends China are hosting a charity barcrawl on Yongkang Lu on Saturday, with the theme 'Party Animal'. Tickets cost 200RMB which gets you 10 drinks 'plus food'. You can buy tickets from Gilligans and Sliders before or on the day, or pay on the day via WeChat. Advance tickets are 180RMB, and they'll give you a discount if you turn up with a group of chums. All proceeds will profit animals in need through Best Friends China.

The Royal Danish Ballet

The Royal Danish Ballet: La Sylphide and Napoli

Until Sunday 26, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre, 80-1,280RMB

The RDB’s Bournonville style has secured their international position – even by ballet standards, they make it look easy. The biggest complaint about RDB is that they don’t tour enough, so don’t miss this rare presentation of two of their most famous works, the haunting La Sylphide and the vivacious Napoli, as well as a bonus piece, George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations.

All things Tim Burton

The World of Tim Burton Exhibition

Sun 26 Jun - Mon 10 Oct, Lafayette Arts & design Centre, 130-170RMB

If you've been disappointed by slowly trudging around the decidedly un-creepy Alice in Wonderland maze at Shanghai Disneyland recently, you ought to find a stronger dose of Tim Burton's unique brand of weird in Shanghai this weekend as Lafayette hosts The World of Tim Burton exhibition. Organisers promise a show that will create 'the experience of walking directly into the comedic and ironic, dark yet fantastic world of the genius director.' It's in town until October.

He’s a producer and multi-instrumentalist as well as a DJ, a talent best exemplified by his ambitious release Land Of 1000 Chances. Have a listen below (if you have a VPN) and you'll see why this show is one of the month's highlights.
