Whilst in-park exercise in Shanghai usually consists of slightly bizarre outdoor gyms, slapping lampposts or walking backwards, something a bit different has just landed in Pudong's Century Park.
adidas have opened a giant sports playground facility, dubbed 'Republic of sports', which includes activity zones for football, basketball, training and running.
Visitors can try their hand at a host of interactive high-tech challenges, from the football 'skill challenge' which invloves dribbling through obstacles before shooting at the target within a time limit, to a spinning challenge where you are rewarded with a cup of fresh OJ in 'Power your juice'. You can shoot basketball hoops in the 'free throw' challenge, and have your skills captured in high-speed photography.
There are also areas to test out the bounciness of the 'Boost RUN' technology, and have your foot shape and run style measured to find your most suitable running trainers. But don't worry, you don't need to buy anything to have a go on the activities - it's all free.
It's at the same venue where adidas unveilied the new Manchester United 2016/17 home kit last week, where the whole team turned out including new manager Jose Mourinho (pictured below).
