

Where will you be this Wednesday as the US election results roll in? It'll be breakfast time here just as the polls close stateside, and plenty of the city's watering holes will be opening up early for the occasion. Here are the places to hit up if you want a side of drama (or booze) with your breakfast.
The Hop Project
The Dagu Lu hotspot, which made our list of Shanghai's best beer bars, are putting on breakfast and coffee along with the coverage for those interested in fortifying themselves before drinking away the inevitable pain. 'It's basically me going around apologising for my country starting at 7am', manager Michael Cichon says.
The Hop Project is at 372 Dagu Lu, near Chengdu Bei Lu, Huangpu district. Free entry.
Liquid Laundry
Liquid Laundry's viewing party has 50RMB entry but gets you orange juice or coffee, and a selection of pastries. They'll also be running two brunch specials. RSVP to electionwatch2016@yahoo.com to save your spot.
Liquid Laundry is at Second Floor, K Wah Centre, 1028 Huaihai Zhong Lu, near Donghu Lu, Xuhui district. Entry is 50RMB.
American Chamber of Commerce
Want to get commercial? The American Chamber of Commerce are offering a comprehensive coverage of the presidential election, congressional elections and gubernatorial elections. Coffee and pastries provided, albeit for a high entry fee.
It's at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center, Suite 568, Shanghai Centre, 1376 Nanjing Xi Lu. Entry is 100RMB for members, 150RMB for member company employees and 250RMB for non-members.
The BREW
The impressive Kerry hotel bar will be showing the whole shabang from 7am, with their usual breakfast offerings and a happy hour from 3pm, if you're still drowning your sorrows come mid-afternoon.
The BREW is at First Floor, Kerry Hotel Pudong, 1388 Huamu Lu, near Fangdian Lu, Pudong.
The Sports bars
Elsewhere, The Shed will be open from 8am with their many screens dedicated to the election and their usual breakfast menu on offer. The Camel Pudong will be offering similar fare (their Puxi branch is still closed for refurbishment).
Can't face getting out of bed? Major American news broadcasters CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox will be live streaming their election coverage on their websites for free. You can also access their streams via their news apps for mobile viewing.
