Hello dearest Time Out readers. I'm Bear, a ten-month old boy looking for a forever home.
A few weeks ago, someone gave People for Pets a call to tell them I was wandering around with a bunch of my friends. They quickly came to my rescue, and brought me in with my friend Chip. Thank goodness they did, because I was totally unsupervised on a really busy road in Pudong. Since I'm still a pup, I had no idea what I was doing...turns out cars are pretty dangerous!

My new friends at People for Pets took me for my first ever vet visit, and were so happy to learn that I'm healthy and don't have any of those nasty viruses that a lot of street dogs get. They had me dewormed, deflead, vaccinated, and neutered - and even gave me a microchip. What a relief! All I need now is you.
I had it tough for a long time, so to be honest, I was easily frightened by the vet and other people for a while. What can I say, I'm a timid boy! But now I'm in a lovely (but temporary) home with my foster mum and four-legged foster brother, and I'm doing a lot better. They've helped me flourish and gain the confidence I need around human friends.

I just need a little extra love, patience and attention. I may be a shy guy but if you take me home and make me part of your family, I'll love you forever. I'm pretty into naps, so we can snuggle and snooze together too.
If you want to adopt me or one of my many Shanghai friends that need homes, or if you'd like to volunteer to foster, please contact the humans at People for Pets using the info here:
