Hi Time Out readers, I'm Blossom, super-mum extraordinaire. Earlier this year I gave birth to seven kittens and kept them all live and healthy, even though I was living on the Shanghai streets all by myself. Pretty sure that qualifies me for Mother of the Year, no? Here's all of us in a big snuggle pile:

Here's the story. I was living in secret at an elementary school and gave birth to my huge litter of kittens all on my own. One day, the security guards found them when I was off looking for food, and told Anna from People for Pets that I had abandoned them! Which obviously is not true. They informed Ilse that if she didn't take my babies away, they were going to throw them in the rubbish bin. WTF.

Naturally, she took them with her, but was heartbroken about not having their mum too. After a night of feeding my kitties by bottle, Anna knew they needed me... kittens often don't make it without their mum!

So she put a few of them in a carrier and headed back to the school, hoping she'd be able to find me. And of course, I was totally freaking out – I mean, someone had stolen my seven children, for Pete's sake! So when Anna arrived at the school, I was there waiting at the gate for her. I heard my babies and came running, and Anna took us all to a safe place to recover and get checked out.

Reunited with my little ones, we stayed with Anna for six weeks. I even made this friend, Daisy the greyhound, who helped me clean the kittens. I mean come on, seven babies? It was kind of a lot to handle on my own.

But now, all of my kittens have flown the nest, and I'm looking for a new home to call my own! I've been vaccinated and spayed, because I think we can all agree that seven babies are enough for one lifetime.

After everything I've been through, I deserve a good home and a family of my own. All of my kittens are adopted, so I'm quite lonely. If you take me home and make me part of your family, I promise I will give you the same unwavering love and affection that I gave my babies.
If you want to adopt me or one of my many Shanghai friends that need homes, please contact the humans at People for Pets using the info below. You can also help out by being a foster for pets in need, which is cost-free to volunteers.
