Football rumours abound: Terry, Oscar and Tevez to Shanghai?

With the opening of the January transfer window just around the corner, Shanghai's Chinese Super League clubs are preparing to put their hands in their increasingly-deep pockets to fork out for some big-name overseas talent. Here are the latest star names rumoured to be joining Shanghai clubs.

Chelsea defender John Terry has reportedly been attracting interest from Shanghai Shenhua, who are willing to pay the ex-England captain 12 million GBP (104 million RMB) for a year of his services. Terry, 36, is unlikely to be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge and could be tempted to the Far East by a big money deal, following in the footsteps of former Chelsea teammates Didier Drogba and Demba Ba.

Another Chelsea player whose future under Antonio Conte is uncertain is Oscar. The 25-year-old Brazilian, who hasn't been a first choice starter for the Premier League leaders this season, didn't feature in Chelsea's squad for the recent victory over Sunderland and could be on his way to Shanghai SIPG for an enormous 60 million GBP (521 million RMB). Having previously turned down an offer to join Jiangsu Suning due to uncertainties about moving to China, Oscar has reportedly told Brazilian network Globo that the deal with SIPG is '90 percent' done. Argentina striker Carlos Tevez could well also soon be calling Shanghai home, potentially lining up alongside one-time Premier League rival John Terry at Shanghai Shenhua. The ex-West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus man has been reported to be joining Shenhua for 10 million USD (69 million RMB) from Boca Juniors in a one-year stint that would see him earn 173 million RMB.
