[Ad] Curator Guide to Visual Arts Exhibition & Dr. G's World

Weta Workshop, one of the world’s top VFX design and manufacture workshop, has now arrived at Wuzhen, bringing a marvelous exhibition! “Wuzhen Presents: A Future in the Visual Arts - Weta Workshop and the World of Dr. Grordborts” is held by Cultural Wuzhen Co., Ltd., Weta Workshop and 421 Studio.

Your experience will be totally different when an expert shows you around an exhibition. Have you missed the guided tour? Don't worry, the curator is giving you some tips in hunting fantastic details!

It is better to arrange your visit following the sequence number in the map.

Enter the North Gate⑴ of Wuzhen North Silk Factory, take some photos with Big Sculptures⑵ before buying tickets at Ticket Office⑶. You may see Weta team’s seven Oscar Statuettes at Lobby⑷ during the opening ceremony (13-14th Dec.).

Show your ticket⑸ to inspector, walk along the Corridor⑹ and get to Green Screen Shooting Area⑺. Here you can gain first hand experience of the visual effects process used in the movies. 

Green Screen Shooting Area is hidden behind two black curtain. Keep curious in Dr. G’s world and don’t lose your sight of this amusing experience!

Once you’ve had your photo taken in the green screen space, it will be processed to show you in a different and unexpected setting! Your visual effects photos can also be taken away with you, pick it up at the cafe at exit when you finish the trip.

When you arrived at the showroom, I would like to suggest that you visit sculptures and showcases of Weta Workshop first. Weta Workshop is one of the world’s most thrilling VFX workshops. You definitely know movie the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbies and Avatar, the creatures in these masterpieces are created by Weta Workshop! 

Start your Weta Workshop tour at Sculptures Area⑼. Sculptures of popular characters from the fantasy film the Lord of the Rings (including Smaug, Gollum, Azog, Nazgul, etc.) have arrived in Wuzhen. Come and take photos with them!

The retrospective wall presents an overview of Richard Taylor's works in the past 30 years. It is called “Timeline of Creativity” and started on 1987. 

Ten showcases introducing eleven departments of Weta Workshop were shipped from New Zealand. You will have a close encounter with Weta workshop’s sculptures, workspace and production process of special effects.

In the Showcase Area⑻, processes and techniques behind their most well-known works are opened to public. It is a great opportunity to see behind the usually closed doors of one of the best VFX workshops in the world! 

Now you are ready for a trip to Dr. G’s world. Abroad the rocket, and go!

Enter the Introduction Hal and watch the display video of Dr. Grordbort’s weapons. Get some knowledge of this brand new world before having a good trip here!

In the vintage British Reception Room⑾, comics and alien preys of Lord Cockswain are showed here. A projection Diorama has been exclusively made for this exhibition in Wuzhen. It combines projected animation and model-making to present a unique piece.

At the corner, a big notebook is left on the desk, waiting for audiences scrawling or painting on it!

Enter Arsenal⑿ through automatic door hidden behind the bookshelf. Just step towards the bookshelf bravely!

Lord Cockswain is a crazy adventurer who has collected coolest rayguns all around the world! Would you like to slip into his arsenal and take a glimpse?

Tell you a secret...All rayguns have a pretty shape but naughty story!

See this Pomson 6000, it is also known as Pommy Gun. This bright and shiny automatic etheric oscillator was a weapon of the Earth Elite Forces. This example is from the consumer market where is shipped in Cardinal Red, Bumblebee Yellow, Piano Black, Poncy Purple and other stylish hues. 

At Hero Gallery⒀, a large number of Testimonial Portraits depicting pioneers and heroes from across the solar system are exhibited in this space. Moreover, a video of Lord Cockswain’s adventures is available.

Scan all visible QR-codes on the wall. Visit Mr. Robot on WeChat and he will tell you more funny stories of those listed heroes!

Don’t feel awkward if you haven’t been to Venus yet. Visit Venusian Museum⒁ instead, here are showcases of information collected from explorers of Venus, including large numbers of paintings, alien specimens and even some Venusian weapons!

Remember to stay away from the poisonous specimens!
