Thursday is the new Friday – or at least it is this weekend, with a ridiculous amount of shows and two stonking ones to choose between tonight: Japanese bass and dubstep pioneer Goth Trad at DADA and red-hot dancehall label Mixpak's Elevator takeover.

THURS 9

Goth Trad

Antidote bring the Japanese dubstep and bass music pioneer to town on the back of his 2016 full-length Psionics. He’s been running Tokyo party Back To Chill (now also a label) for over a decade and has been described as a ‘modern standard-bearer for dubstep’.

DADA 115 Xingfu Lu. 10pm. Free.

Yeti Out x Mixpak label night feat. Jubilee and The Large

MC Jado hosts a night showcasing Mixpak, a label that slides between the worlds of dancehall, hip hop and electronica. Founded in 2009 by Dre Skull, Mixpak has grown as a key connector between New York and the Caribbean, releasing lengthy work from Jamaican heavyweights like Vybz Kartel to Popcaan and the imprint’s own Jubilee and The Large (who will be performing live here). Having recently won the Red Bull Culture Clash 2016 against crews like Wiz Khalifa’s Tayor Gang and Wiley’s Eskimo Dance, Mixpak are on a high. Support from Skinny Brown, Allan Marshall B2B Tom Yeti and ESA.

Elevator 218 Xinle Lu. 10pm. 80RMB; 40RMB (presale).

Brittany Sky

New York-based DJ Brittany Sky is on the rise in her hometown, having provided noteworthy sets and mixes for brands such as BeatsByDre as well as opening for a host of top 40 artists. She was also featured as one of the Leaders of the New Sound during this year's VH1 Hip Hop Honors.
